Completely Random Bits Of My Life

I Turned 26 Part 2 December 4, 2009

Aiyoyo… just when I got the mojo to start doing *something* again properly, all my weekends are seemingly filled up, and at such short notice! I think I must be a pretty un-flexible person… I really do not like last minute arrangements. I go with the flow, but feel very stressed out about it. Been working late a lot recently… it’s eating into gym time and I’m not liking it one bit. Especially not the bit where “certain people” decide to take it into their hands to monitor things that they know jackshit about.

Let me ask you, would you be in any position to tell a fisherman how much fish he can catch in a day, if you have never gone fishing before? And then you comment on his technique, and if one day he brings in more fish and another day he brings less, you, without understanding CIRCUMSTANCES say, “What the fuck is up with this irregularity?” We live in a world which is dynamic, not STATIC. So why do people keep expecting data to be CONSTANT and without any fluctuations?

I’m honestly damn pissed off and annoyed and all kinds of bitter at the moment. Too many things that I am not happy about. Under-appreciated, underpaid and MISunderstood. Hehehe.

Back to the birthday celebration post! 60 pictures ahead! :P

More On The Sadness That Is My Life October 17, 2008

Okay, I *thought* I would be more cheered up by now, but something dreadful happened last night so I’m kind of down in the dumps again. *pitiful face* Trying to look on the bright side of things, so here I am, whining. My lovely-yet-hateful N73 died on me last night. After a mere 2 years of so of usage, it dieson me. T___T The murderer? Quite likely, me, but hear me out!

Remember how I always said that the Symbian firmware shipped out with the N73 was faulty? It wasn’t me who said it originally, it’s all over handphone forums out there. Basically, even after you delete a file from memory, it still resides there, continuously accumulating, continuously growing larger until you get “Out of Memory” errors, but when you look at your memory details, it’ll be something like :
Messages : 1MB
Calendar : 300kb
Images : 500kb
Total memory in use : 44MB. (WTF… my handphone fails at math)

Anyway, they *claimed* the solution was to format the phone and install a new version of the firmware, also provided by Nokia. I did that once… and then all was fine for a year or so. But just 1-2 weeks ago, the problem recurred. Funny… isn’t the last format a one-time-solves-for-all-time thing? I reformatted the phone again, and then it was okay…. until last night. ARGHHH!!

Just before I went to sleep, the “Out of memory” message started beeping, God that was annoying. I decided to restart my PC and reformat my phone, less I spend the whole of Friday unable to receive SMS-es.

Conclusion is… after the reformat of the phone, I got a “fail to startup” message from the program. The phone was dead to the world. Couldn’t even be switched on. Sigh. And it’s definitely not because the battery died… it’s fully charged!! Haih, I’m just so distraught now that I don’t want to linger on the subject anymore. This was really the worse choice of a phone to select, and I’m definitely turned off from Nokia and all their pariah software updaters. Don’t know how much it’s going to cost me to fix it, or how long it’s going to take. I dug my old Nokia out (thank God I still keep it!) and even though the “0″ and “9″ button can’t be used and it’s pretty much luck if you can hear the person at the other end… at least it can still be used to SMS people just fine. :\

Hoo’s lending me his old phone to tide me over though… my thumbs are already starting to hurt from using this one. And it’s just so weird that I can’t use my camera phone anymore. And I don’t have a funky alarm clock in the morning. :\

Oh, and I lost one side of my slippers yesterday. :\ Not just any slipper, my Ipanema slippers that I bought earlier this May. (Can still remember clearly because it was part of my “I have been deprived of shopping malls while I’m in Cambodia, so Imma splurge now!” phase). And I don’t even know how I lost it… probably it made an escape from my car as I got out / in yesterday. Haih… what is the value of half a pair of slippers? Zero! They were darn comfy and nice too… *emo*

Seem to have misplaced my IC as well… wtf. Guess what? I whined about all this to my boss!! She says that I think too much! :\ Oh yeah, there’s one more part… the transit between my flight from KL – HK and HK to SF is only 50 minutes long! Do you think it’s possible for the plane to land and park safely on the runway, for us to come down from the plane and run for the next boarding gate… within 50 minutes? I told the travel agent already that I am not comfortable with the timeframe but she said that since they are both Cathay flights, they will wait for the passengers. Is that true? T___T I don’t know… I’m such a jakun. I rather wait 5 hours and be sure I can get on the connecting flight than to think I only have 50 minutes, then have to get a reissued ticket for God-knows-when-the-next-flight-is. Then I’ll have to contact Simon and tell him that the plane is delayed or whatever… so mafan! Please… anyone who has travelled extensively and has been in the same scenario… tell me that it is sooooo possible to land and board the next plane in the airport within 50 minutes!!

Ok… let me count some GOOD stuff that happened today so I don’t get too emotional and start weeping silently in the office :
1. Hoo is so kind to lend me his handphone… !! [Ok, he actually went home to get it for me as I was typing / whining this into Notepad... and it's definitely better than MY backup phone. It's a Nokia 6620... aka "the soap handphone". I didn't come up with that... the Prince in my team (aka Putera) told me that.]
2. The Delias fiasco is actually a blessing in disguise because it will help me to save money!
3. My dad agreed to fetch me to the airport tomorrow!
4. I am currently reading Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman and it’s really funny and engaging! I hope to finish it before I go, but that’s unlikely… but I don’t want to bring it as “airplane reading” because it’s soooooo thick. For Laos, my last “airplane read” was A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, and this was really really really excellent and deserving of all the praise heaped upon it. I think this man is an absolute natural at storytelling. It was so good that I read it 3 times in all in Laos, and I never got tired of the story. :) Hmmm.. talking about a good book makes me feel good too! :3 Anyway — what book should I bring onto the plane? I’m thinking… The Wind Up Bird Chronicle! :D [Okay, I couldn't find my book - time to clean room when I get back - so I'm bringing Homer's Odyssey instead, hahaha!]

Elaboration on the weekend that passed! There was just too much stuff that I tried to squeeze into my last weekend in Malaysia before going to US. Thought of buying more things for the boyfriend, but I think the most important thing is that I reach him in one piece. :) On Saturday, it was a bit of a mad rush, buying last minute things here, changing money into USD (I weep at the exchange rates! 3.53! :c), going to the gym… and then met up at Pauline’s house to go for David’s wedding.

When I arrived there, saw that AhSiang was back from Laos for holidays and was also carpooling with us. Hehehe… as I told my director (who I bumped into that night):
Mr T : “So… did you drive here, or did you FLY here.” (He will always bring up the speed I go as a topic ever since that one measley incident where I trailed his car!)
Me : “Oh… Michael drove. I’ve learned how to use other people for transportation already!”

Haha! Cindy started clapping like mad… I think Mr T makes her drive him around. Hahaha. =p

The wedding was really fun… David gave us a great table, sat with friends who we all knew. One thing I found AMAZING about the whole affair was that it was David’s father who was the “wedding planner”! David didn’t have to do anything at all! (Except to be present in a tuxedo). ^^ He was so free that he didn’t even need to take leave like my other male colleagues when they were getting married — still came back to work diligently. =p

More pictures:

The dashing groom and the blushing bride. :]

On the stage… the dude laughing behind is David’s brother.

The bunch of ??? Bank Staff :

ChiongAn & Helen. Helen is soooo pretty. *shy*

Me and Justin… I’ll explain the money later.

Patrick and Hoo aka nice guy who lent me his handphone for indefinite period of time!

The money is actually Lao Kip, and AhSiang exchanged RM40 all into 10000 kip notes… that’s how thick the stack is! One 10000 note is about 40sen. Reason? To pass out as souvenirs. Anyway, we had a lot of fun playing with it… until the waitress got “scared” of us and asked us why we were playing with money! :3

That’s me, Mr See and Michael.

Pauline, SiewFan and myself.

Another angle for the picture that I posted earlier.

Nice photo of the table behind us… cos they shone this freaking super powered lights at each table for photographs. And by golly, we had green spots dancing in front of our eyes for at least the 30 seconds after!

Photo with David and Alice… hahaha, nice lighting again!

In case you’re wondering, neither David nor his bride Alice are mixed Chinese… but from the food and the guests, you would think so…. hahaha. Oh, there was also a live band that sang some really random songs. When they sang Billy Ray Cyrus’s “Achy Breaky Heart”, I asked Cindy if she felt like line dancing. =p

Drank a bit too much red wine that night too… not like it was really good or anything. Hmm… honestly, I can’t tell! The next day, was a miracle that both Dull and I managed to wake up early-ish to start on our “road trip” *scoff* to Putrajaya for Fazlynn’s brother’s wedding. Was quite shy to go, cos erm… I don’t know anyone there? And I have NEVER met her older brothers before. But since she’s such a good friend and all… of course we have to “give face” and go. :3 Wore our Sunday best and all that jazz.

Putrajaya is actually a really beautiful place. The place is hot as a desert and empty to boot… but I think all the government buildings locate here are really picturesque. Seriously, I feel so ashamed of myself… I always take pictures of “interesting” buildings when I’m overseas, but I don’t do the same when I’m in Malaysia. Maybe I should drive to Putrajaya and just walk around to snap photos! Actually, I’m more psyched about the walking around bit than the snapping photos bit, haha!

Some photos!

I have no idea what buildings these are … :( But I think they look nice…!
Oh, and Dull and I got lost coming here! But everyone else who we asked had no problem getting here. *shy*

Dull in her outfit that made me feel underdressed. >=\

Dull said this was a nice pic, so here I am posting it up.
We got lost trying to find the hall… hahaha. Ended up walking around all these office building areas.

Finally reached the hall! Empty…

The kompang session. The little boy in front seems to be “supervising” them… hahaha.
(Actually, he wants to have a kompang of his own la… I didn’t get to snap a photo of him hitting his imaginary kompang.)

Fairuz and Suri.
My highlight of the day was when Fairuz actually knew who I am before I introduced myself. T____T
So happy when older brothers make an effort to know their sister’s friends. T_____T So touching…

Dull and Fuzz. =)

Leechie and Fuzzy!

After the event was over…. was walking back to the car. And then Dull said she wish that there was someone to snap a photo of us walking. Since there wasn’t anyone around who could do us that favor, had to camwhore. I think I look pretty bad here, but Dull looks fab!

Me, taken with my handphone.
MY POOR HANDPHONE!!!! *cries*

I met Alex there too….. hahhaa… sorry, couldn’t recognise him at first. Now I realise how bad I am at hiding when I don’t recognise someone. T___T Fuzz was like, “How come you said ‘Ya ya… I know him’ but I could see from your face that you don’t know!” Hahahaha!! Okay, I feel really bad! Actually, would like to talk to him some more, but he was with a date… I think. Anyway, it’s a really small world!

That evening, met up with Fadhlin for Gamarjobat, as I wrote about earlier. “>The last time I went for the show, I went alone, which I felt was a pity since it was so good. The current show is not bad…. “The Western”. Still good mime techniques, still extremely funny. Just that rock n roll penguin gag…. *can’t get over it* But Hiropon and Ketch are soooo cute, everything is forgivable. :3 Another thing I regret is getting the cheap seats at the side. Don’t ever make the same mistake as me!! It’s a MIME show, so it’s best if you sit in the center. From the side, the gags don’t look as nice, and you’re more likely to see how the trick is performed than be impressed by the overall effect.

When I got home, my family “officially” celebrated my birthday with me… hahaha. Finally got to taste marble cheese cake from CeliCakes. It is really like eating a block of cheese… hahaha!

My cake!! Come to think of it I only had one slice…

Me!!! See how big the cake is compared to my FACE. -__-”

Happy camper.

And then I end that happy weekend by falling sick. WTF.

Sorry for the long entry… hahha. People who are bored at work must love my blog soooo much. O_O” This is just in case I don’t update for the next 2 weeks or so! I think I’ll have more time to blog when I’m over there, but I’m never inspired enough to do so if I don’t have Photoshop with me. :) Must always resize the pictures nicely mar.

Anyway, just take care for the next 2 weeks… I wish all of you a much happier week than the one I had so far… and …. HAPPY DEEPAVALI in advance. :P

Grooving to Frasers Hill September 2, 2007

Met up with old friends, and met new ones over the weekend. Merdeka celebrations? I totally forgot it was Merdeka Day and I should do Something Significant. I ended up cleaning my toilet and doing loads of ironing. =) Oh well, at least I did something progressive for that day. At night, had plans to go out with Ian and Shannon. Shannon was worried about traffic on the 31st, but I didn’t really care anyways because Ian fetched me. =p (In the end, traffic was light… so luckily we didn’t cancel the meet-up huh!). We went to Groove Junction.

The main reason why Ian suggested that place was for the live band. The live band only appeared after 10pm, so everything beforehand was all about food and drink and catching up. Oh yes, our party of 3 blossomed into 4 with the presence of Shannon’s gf, Lenny. I first met and last saw her around 2004-2005 (was it really that long ago?). Anyway, it was great to see her again, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of their company. =))

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We had a bottle of Fishcage white wine… an Australian brand. This is only my second time having white wine! *jakuns* And I got rather happy-sleepy after 2.5 glasses…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Ian’s meal – ‘Ellena’s Lamb Chops’. He said it’s damn tender.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Lenny’s cream of orange soup. The weirdest tasting soup evar according to her.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My own ‘Sonny Rollins’, which is asparagus wrapped with panfried chicken in a tangy orange sauce, with a side of potato wedges and vegetables. I thought this was quite nice and value-for-money CONSIDERING everything else was so expensive. @_@

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Shannon & Lenny’s ‘Marinara Romanza’ (romanza because it’s for 2). His description of the meal is damn funny. He said it’s for 2, but they gave 3 mussels only, like asking the couple to start a fight and all. Hahaha!~

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Our dessert! Creamy banana rolls with a side of vanilla ice-cream. Tried to make Shannon tie a knot with the cherry stem but he didn’t want to, saying his track record has already been proven. Lol lol lol…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Then in commemoration with Merdeka, we each had a mug of Tiger beer. Shannon’s suggestion. I don’t even drink beer! How did I manage to down the entire mug? @_@

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
No pictures of the band because I don’t think you’d enjoy a series of red & black photos like these…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
HAHAHA!! How come I’m the only one who managed to keep her eyes open? Clockwise from bottom left : Lenny, Shannon, Ian and myself.

I’m no jazz connoisseur, but I thought the live band was pleasing enough to the ear. The keyboardist was fantastic, but we were all tired and perhaps a little tipsy. Left and went to a nearby mamak for more smalltalk, Indo mee (??) and hot teh tarik.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Hmm, we even managed to choose a mamak store outside Maybank. So patriotic la!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Yum!

The next day, I surprised myself by being able to wake up in time for this road trip to Frasers Hill with Fadhlin. Well, so-called road trip la, Fadh actually had work to do there, I was just tagging along to be a bum. Hey, I’m not the one driving. =p When she picked me up, Fadh told me that she had invited her friend, Mysterious Blogger to come along as well. The reason is because she needs someone to fix her car if it breaks down, wtf… hahahhaa!! Anyway, it was nice meeting you, Mysterious Blogger!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Fooh… long road ahead. Glad I wasn’t the one driving. >=p Seriously Fadh, I’m in awe of your sense of direction la. I suck so bad at directions that the only thing I can recall of the trip (aside from trees and more trees) is that @#$%#@ Mydin building.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
See? I told you that its possible to take nice pics just by sticking your hand out of the car window and randomly snapping. Ok la, I think it looks nice, you don’t then your problem. >=p

Haha, yah one of the main reasons why I can’t remember anything else about the ride there, or how 2.5 hours just seem to fly by is because I REALLY REALLY enjoyed talking to Fadh and Mysterious Blogger fren. The reason why I don’t write his name here is because I’m sked to reveal his identity… after he marah then how? I don’t want to lose a new friend! Haha, got so many random gossips about work and blogs and er… mutual friends and all that. Hahahaha! @_@ Anyway, we couldn’t find the elusive Shahzan Inn when we got there. Whenever Fadh said, “Can one of you look at the map?” as she manouvered her car, I would sit silently. I figure that if I *did* look at the map, we would be even more lost than if I didn’t look at it. Er, yes so I’m also in awe of your sense of direction, Mysterious Blogger!

When we finally found the place (no thanks to me), Fadh went about with her business. So Mysterious Blogger and I walked around the whole place. (I’m making it sound like it was a real hike… well, it seemed like it. But we didn’t walk for long before we ended up in the lounge) I have even MORE photos of the scenery and the flora (no fauna), but I have work tomorrow (sigh! After a 2 week break!) and it’s already 12.24am…

Golf course!! This pic is dedicated to ManagerJon.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Ok, *this* is the slope that we walked up. (Inside joke).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Quaint little sitting area outside. FYI, it’s not terribly cold in Frasers Hill. Sitting outside here in your shorts also you won’t feel anything.

Inside the hotel. By the way, this place seems really popular!
Qigong association of Malaysia were up here for the weekend! So random.

Welcome!

Random ‘kolam’ that we saw in a store.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This was taken somewhere near the ‘hub’ of Frasers Hill… Main source of income = selling keropok lekor / durian / goreng pisang / Ramlee Burger… hahhaha!

Back to the lounge, back to reality!

By this time, Fadh was done observing the hotel, and the manager kindly treated all of us to their hotel buffet lunch. So nice… :) Although the squid was a bit too spicy for poor ol me!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
If you’re wondering why I took photographs of the food when it’s “very average”, the reason is because it is FREE and therefore BETTER than average. Hyuk!

We left the hotel at about 1pm. Fadh then wanted to visit The Paddock, and I suppose Mysterious Blogger wanted to go there too as he wanted to get in a spot of horseback riding. 0:) Sadly for all of us, the place was closed. We couldn’t wait until 2pm because we had to rush back to PJ. As it was, Fadh was late for her appointment anyways because she had to send the 2 of us back. =\ But anyways! It was fun walking to the Paddock and just enjoying the sights and sounds (got birds which makes a sound like it’s wolf-whistling… damn cute.)

This is where Shahzan Inn is located, in case you’re interested.

On our way.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Oops… closed for Friday prayers. Too bad so sad.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This picture has a lot of meaning for me. I could’ve been perched on top of that whale. T_T

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Great company.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Last picture in Frasers Hill… this was on our way down. Fadh actually stopped her car so that I could brave the butterflies and snap a photo of the waterfall.

My greatest regret is that there wasn’t any photo of the 3 of us together. But at least I have these:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Left: As you can see, I certainly wasn’t the one in charge of the map. :P
Right: Fadh said something that made the two of us laugh like mad. :P

Oh gosh. Got work tomorrow. Really don’t feel like it la. But at least I can catch up on the work gossip! :P And I can get back to my gym mojo. Starting new diet tomorrow, will tell you about it tomorrow (if Raymond doesn’t bitch about it to me too much!).

Change of Scenery November 13, 2006

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

This weekend has been truly awesome, busy & fattening. Wish all my weekends could be so “activity-filled”. And I got to meet up with a lot of old friends, new friends and people who I would like to know more. ^_^ It was great to hang out with you, and I just love talking to you (you have a musical + chirpy voice… *jealous*). Hard to believe you’d end up going out with someone you’ve just met two days in a row, but there you have it. :)

Basically, the prelude to the weekend started with me winnning a Tata Young contest from MTV Asia. If you don’t know who Tata Young is, check out her Wikipedia entry. I randomly entered the contest (it’s so easy peasy lemon squeezy) because I was addicted to her “El Nin-Yo! song. My gym seemingly plays it 24/7. -__-” But one thing I definitely know about her is that she is FLAMING HOT!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket On Friday, I met up with Fer, went to watch FLUSHED AWAY. Gosh, got lost on the way to Midvalley (driving from work), felt quite helpless and what not. But everything turned out ok in the end, and that show is bloody funny!! And it is one cartoon I’ve seen with a really strange (but good!) choice of soundtrack. I mean, you wouldn’t expect a movie about rats (SEWER rats) with Bohemian Like You playing in the background, right? Like I told all my friends – I abhor rats, slugs and frogs, and I STILL loved this movie even though “Flushed Away” is all about those 3 creatures. *sigh* Very cute la, I want a slug plushie! <— How bad does THIS sound? Best scene : Roddy sitting on a rubber ducky & serenading his lady love with a guitar and slugs. :)

Had long chat while pigging out at Chillis before heading on home. This was like, the start of my non-stop pigging this weekend. Straight away gain 500 pounds.

Fer is beginning to regret going out with me and my trusty cameraphone. :P

Insanely happy to be tucking in to the citrus grilled chicken & prawn set. Damn, damn nice.

The next day, we decided to be aunties and be kiasu at BluInc’s BUMPER ROADSHOW. This year they did things differently — they gave a booklet of freebie / discount coupons, so you had to traipse around the whole of One Utama (well, the New Wing) if you wanted the additional goodies. Last time, the “additional goodies” were just sponsor booths which was right at the roadshow itself. Guess they wanted us to work a bit more for the goodies. :p It was damn fun, but I got blisters at the end of the day. :(

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Early morning – still setting up the booths.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
No, these were not the lucky draw prizes. :p

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The “additional goodies” booklet. See, we only redeemed a few.

My first time eating at Kluang Station… the food is just alright. :p Actually, the lunch break was really a chance for us to go through the goodie bags and then hype ourselves up for the lucky draw later. :) Their famous coffee is indeed good though. And cheaper than the blardy awful Norwegian coffee I had last time.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Ayam masak merah and ice Kluang coffee.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Capri-Sonne, Wrigleys chewing gum, fruit + chocolate milk bars & mentos sour mix samples from a MyNews “additional” goodie bag. Nice! :)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The not-very-funky-looking goodie bags from BluInc. (Compared to last time)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Vouchers : True Fitness, Xixili, Leonard Drake, My Diamond, Sime Darby, Marie France, Ciba Vision, A&W.
Samples : Shiseido Pureness, some facial wash for men, Collagen food supplement thingy, Clarins Par Amour perfume.
Products : Marigold creamer, TimTam Choco Vanilla biscuits, Xixili “funky” bra strap (it’s just a weird green in color… what’s so funky?), Fitness First contest form, ball point pen from MPH, Crabtree & Evelyn shampoo & conditioner.

Went home after that, scared the longer I stayed in One Utama, I’ll end up finishing all my money. When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised by TWO things. Firstly : A Levi’s contest that I entered in August sent me the prizes I won. Apparently I’m the grand prize winner!!! Thanks to her for the heads up that she saw my name on their website. =P Still, it was so nice to get the prizes. I said I wanted Levi’s Ladystyle jeans for my birthday, and to actually get it… wow. I mean, if everything that I asked for, I got, I’ll be dead spoilt. And Levi’s is seriously spoiling me. :P

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
A package for me…. how shweet…. =))))

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This is the Levi’s Lady Style Mop Dial with Pink Strap. Retailing at RM439.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Me camwhoring with TWO RM250 Levi’s vouchers. So happy. Wait til I camwhore with my actual Levi’s Lady Style products. In the words of Edy… MOU TAK TING. Or was that TING MM SOON?? :P

The second pleasant surprise … my invites for the Tata Young showcase that night arrived in the mailbox. It was held at Ruums Bar at Jalan Sultan Ismail. I won 4 invites, and the people I went with were so random. They were Kim, Daniel and Ian (only Ian got stuck in a jam and didn’t *actually* go for the showcase, although he ended up seeing Tata Young anyway). Anyway, I was hyped up to go because I was under the (wrong) impression that there would be alcohol, and because I haven’t been there before. Steph told me that the place was very “provocative”, so leecherous me had to go (of course!).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Kim was extremely disgusted with me for the picture on the right. :( Anyway, don’t you think she looks very J-Lo-esque on the invitation card?

The showcase was actually pretty good (IMHO). Of course, we were all rather edgy because there were soooooo many people. We had to wait almost an hour to get into the club, and we weren’t even that super kiasu. We didnt’ arrive super early as planned, and it was really by a stroke of luck that Daniel and Kim got the last 2 free Tata Young CDs. (You can only get it if you’re a registered Digi user). Daniel gave the CD to me. >=) Yes! He was most reluctant to register in the first place some more. Really grateful, ya.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The lighting and 0.3 megapixel cam makes us look devilish…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Soooo many people. Btw, how come everytime I go to a club / concert, the girls are hot like hell, but there are more apeks than studs? Not fair!

Back to my story… ya, once we got in, I really didn’t see what was so provocative about the club. Maybe there were some scantily-clad waitresses hidden around. VJ Utt was the emcee for the night, and they played some weird dancing game (dance like Tata). Have to say that the girls who participated in the game were very sporting & wild & crazy. One of them asked Utt for a hug, and he ended up hugging all 3 of them. When I told my sister, she was so jealous, like wtf.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
He looks damn different after he got himself a crew cut. No more pretty boy Utt for you! And he is more muscly and tall than I imagined him to be. Daniel asked, “Ooh, you think he’s a bad boy? You want to spank that bad boy?” =____=”

Tata’s showcase lasted for about 30 – 40 minutes only. Non-stop singing and dancing with her two all-white back-up dancers who loved crotch-thrusts. She sang El Nin-Yo!, Dhoom Dhoom, Come Rain Come Shine, For You I Will, Zoom and I Believe. Aside from introducing the next song, she only stopped one other time to communicate with the audience. She’s pretty friendly and a really great entertainer! My only complain about the showcase was that she tied up her hair in a severe ponytail. Not as pretty la. =p

Shake your tatas, Tata! Move your butt, utt!

Actually, I was quite scared that we wouldn’t have much fun because Kim didn’t know Daniel, and vice versa and I also haven’t seen him since I watched Grease. But I really had fun that night. Kim was singing to I Believe so loudly and it was so funny because she was so into Tata Young. =p And after the showcase, Daniel who didn’t know one single song from Tata was also singing, “You got my temperature rising like… el nin-yo!” (although it’s the ONLY line he knows). When we met up with Ian for dinner at TGIF, you know, it was like a group of us who I wouldn’t imagine would meet up? But when I went to sleep that night, I realised that my jaws were aching from smiling so much the entire evening. =p Next time I win free passes, you people will be the first on my mind, k!

My ultimate strawberry margarita (don’t know what is inside it. There’s some rum there, I think) and Kim’s peach margarita.

Tata Young goodies – posters, postcards, CD, etc.

We saw Tata Young in TGIF! All dressed down in jeans and hoodie. No one mobbed her. Utt was there too! Thing is, they were with their entire entourage, which was more than 10 people. How to dare go and ask for her autograph / picture? That was totally a private party. =( Regret… I did try to take a picture of her eating at TGIF, but it was so difficult! Being a stalker / paparazzi is hard work.

You know, people usually have preconceptions about anime – that it’s all filled with superduper perky / pervy characters. This one is pretty dark, with neither of the leading characters being likable guys. =\ It’s basically about Light Yagami, a law graduate who finds “Death Note”. Anyone whose name is written onto the Death Note will die within 40 seconds. Light takes the law into his own hands by killing off criminals. Of course, his actions do not go un-noticed, and the police department soon bring in the help of “L”, a genius, to help track down “Kira” (the name given to the entity responsible of the ‘mysterious deaths’). The “cat and mouse” game that ensues is even more thrilling, gripping and surprising compared to Infernal Affairs. And I LOVED Infernal Affairs

Anyway, I’m really tired right now… super duper long entry today. ~_~” So I’ll just leave you with pictures of MORE FOOD… *sigh* Looking at all these food make me hungry all over again.

Tencha Soba set and Salmon Temaki for late lunch at Kiku Zakura. Ooh, I spent so frikkin much on ONLY food … *Dies*

Oops, before I forget — I finally managed to upload videos onto my video ipod! Mwahahhhaa! It’s awesome quality, althought some file formats can be formatted, but the sound is missing! ~_~” Oh well, it sure beats telling people, “Ya I got a video ipod, but (eh heh) no video on it yet…” It takes DAMN long to export a video into the correct format for syncing though! =\
