Happy Labour’s Day! Thank you for your thoughts and wishes, so far my phase 2 implementation has gone by a lot smoother than the first round! Being in UVW Bank really taught me a lot of stuff, but too bad I’m too stingy to share with my ex-colleagues, trololololol. I will talk more about what happened when it’s actually been rolled out for at least 2 weeks. Don’t wanna jinx myself!

Anyway, I’m in the mood for posting up old pictures, so here’s pics from my sister’s birthday celebration earlier this year. We went to Serai in Empire Gallery for dinner and I bought her an ice-cream cake. I thought that it was something unique and different, but sadly, it didn’t last quite long in my fridge. By the time LY hacked the cake open, it was getting quite gooey. *sad* I always seem to mess up her birthday cakes. Another unique thing that happened during the birthday celebration was when we took turns carrying Ben (my nephew in case you don’t know) so that another person gets to eat. For some reason, Ben was sooooo antsy that day and he kept crying and couldn’t be pacified. His cries were so loud that other patrons were starting to give us the evil eye. Kris said to me, “LeeCh! You are such a bad mother. You better bring the baby out of the restaurant.” WTF! Kris is the bad father lar! :P

Our drinks at Serai.

ALL THE FOOD WE HAD! We had mainly Asian set meals, though they do serve Western cuisine as well (that’s my brother’s pasta up there). I just felt that their forte lies in the “nasi” sets. Very worth the price you are paying for as it is guarantee to more than satisfy you. A very filling meal indeed.

LY’s ice cream cake from Baker’s Cottage. I actually got the idea from my colleagues who bought an ice-cream cake for another colleague’s birthday celebration.

Birthday girl and her naughty son! Don’t wan to look at the camera, tsk tsk.

Father and son. (Again don’t want to layan the camera… hmph!)

My happy sister, LY. Look at ben’s serious business face! HAhahahahahahaHAHAAHa!!

Obligatory photos of Ben for his fans on my blog. ^^

Been through the wringer round 2… I hate to proclaim it… but my brain may be running out of space to store stuff. Might need to delete / clear out some memory… empty the recycle bin. Sighhhh….

So much things I want to do, but I’m just sitting here, wondering…

This is a few months late, but it’s the Goh household Chinese New Year celebration, 2012!

Pictures from first day of CNY with my dad’s side of the family. :) All taken during reunion dinner.

Only one picture of the food from day 2 of CNY at my popo & kongkong’s house. Every year dream of the delicious abalone + pig stomach soup.. :P

Ohhh… just all the CNY food that I love. I’m sure you know all of it!

Celebrated my nephew’s full moon at Dragon Dynasty, Summit. You can see him in the corner of the last pic, hahaha.

Ok that’s all for now…

Do You? January 25, 2012

Do you believe in Chinese horoscopes? Or any horoscopes for that matter? I try to tell myself that it is balderdash, but it is so hard to resist, especially when it sounds so good. Sometimes, I believe that when you keep concentrating on the GOOD aspects of the horoscope, you send out good / positive vibes, and naturally, attract good things your way. Meanwhile, if you keep concentrating on the BAD aspects, you’re in a negative vibe, and even the smallest, teeniest trouble comes your way, you would be like, “I knew it! The horoscope said that that would happen.”

A wise friend once told me – why don’t you try reading the horoscope for ALL the other star signs… I bet it’s so general that ALL of it can apply to you. I found that it was half true… some of it was, and some of it wasn’t. But that was the same for my OWN star sign – some of it was true, and some of it wasn’t.

I guess it’s so hard to accept it as balderdash when Tron and I have superbly 100% matching horoscopes whether following the Western one or the Chinese one. ;)

Gotta be at work in a few hours time — didn’t take any leave this year. Then again, I’m used to not taking leave during the CNY period. This year is my most no CNY spirit… I didn’t buy any new clothes (oh, the shirt I’m wearing in the above pics are new (with tags some more!) but I didn’t buy it for CNY this year. I bought it almost 1.5 years ago!! This is what happens when you buy stuff wholesale.. you can get so much bang for your buck. And I tell ya, it’s not the only item with tags still on it in my room…), and the family ain’t really celebrating together. Mom and dad fell sick, so we were quarantined at home so as not to spread the viruses outside. My sister is still in confinement, and though she badly wants to visit my maternal grandpa, she was barred from doing so by my mom. I haven’t seen my nephew since Sunday (I think) and I miss him badly. He is so lovely and I’m starting to become a capital-A awesome aunty…

Tron and his family also were not around during the holiday period, so it was even more sien… anyway, he’s now back, can’t wait to pass him all the CNY goodies we have packed up for his family!

Party Like It’s 2012 January 1, 2012

So I didn’t manage to write before the end of 2012, big deal. ;) It really doesn’t feel like a brand new year (maybe because I haven’t gone in to the office yet), but I’m feeling great. I don’t know why – maybe it’s laziness or plain giving-up-ness, but I don’t feel like making any resolutions this year. Maybe because I know what I need to do and what needs to get done. Don’t need a 365-day goal to make it happen. In fact, why do I need 365 days? I should just give myself 30 days and see whether I can stick to it for even that long.

2012 is going to be a BIG year for me. There’s so much going on, and getting a nephew is just the first part of it. I visited my sister & the baby quite often at first, but getting lazy. :P Sometimes when I visit,  he’s just busy sleeping and I feel like a witch trying to wake him up just so he’ll entertain me. And then when he *does* wake up and start wailing, then I regret it deeply. Because you can watch all the “5 Languages of a Baby” or “The Happiest Baby On The Block” videos that you want – practicing it is another story. I rather the baby just sleeps more than wake up and has to be soothed for mysterious disturbances that we can’t figure out.

My nephew is also very very active… when he’s getting burped and lying on my shoulder, he will move his head everywhere and breathe into my neck and ear and it tickles!! I thought babies are supposed to NOT be able to move their head so much? Not my nephew! He can move so much that he can be in Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair video. -___-”

I also don’t feel like making a recap of 2011, because I didn’t travel as much, so it doesn’t look so exciting. :P There was only 2x Singapore trip + Penang + Hong Kong. Eh, all islands lah! I guess the biggest, most dramamama change for 2011 was that I switched jobs. For those who don’t know, I had been working at XYZ Bank for 7 years and now I’m with UVW Bank. It’s been 6 months with the new company, and life has been great! I know a lot of people are all ??? at how I can stay in a company for so long when nowadays, a lot of people frequently job-hop on to bigger and better things. Most people I know have at least 2 – 3 different jobs before this. To be honest, the culture at XYZ Bank is totally different. Somehow, a lot of people there have only worked at XYZ Bank and has been there for way longer than me. It makes you wonder – there surely must be something that has them staying, right? I can tell you why, but not free to post it up on my blog. :P

Ok, 1st day of 2012 and I’m still overbrimming with the possibilities the year ahead holds. Have fun, and let’s go out and yum cha soon!

P.S : I loved how I didn’t have to do year-end support this time! *glee*
