Completely Random Bits Of My Life

Remnants of Bangkok November 19, 2009

Remainder of pictures that I managed to get from Pauline and Alice! Nothing much to say, since I’ve already finished blogging about the trip. I have to warn you that there’s like 90% photos of me, but then again this is my blog, and the blog header already has pictures of me… so it kinda forewarns you about the type of person I am (ie: self absorbed)… so, er, just proceed with caution. :P

Pauline, Alice, Raymond and I… waiting for the sky track train. :D We were headed to Patpong.
Matching shirts worn by Alice and Raymond were bought in Chatuchak that day itself

Shop, Eat, Massage, Drink November 17, 2009

What more would you do on the last day of your holidays… but to cram in everything else that you wanted to do! :D We went to Platinum Mall for a full day of shopping. I don’t really like the place because I hate how I feel pressured into buying 3 items from the same shop just so I can get warehouse prices. I know … I should just completely disregard it, but sometimes you see ONE item that is SOOOOOO nice and so just-gotta-have-it, and then it psychos you into buying two other items that are “just alright only” in your books… and then you realise you just blew RM70 in one shop already. -__-

I was also extra peeved off because whatever I saw that had my eyes twinkling were things that I could not obtain:

  • super cool jacket with studs on the collar? – only for display. *sob*
  • super cool shiny blazer / boyfriend jacket type? – last piece only and last piece was in ratty condition
  • really nice scarf that had a label of ONLY 100Baht above it? turns out the label is wrongly placed.. it’s actually 350 baht wtf. Lazy to bargain ady.

Still, the guys had fun here. I think Raymond started grabbing stuff straightaway. I think he has beginner’s luck in Bangkok — according to him, the shops that he walks in to, the owner goes, “100 Baht, lowest price.” So he doesn’t even bother to bargain cos RM10 for either polo shirts or nice quality football jerseys are dirt cheap for him already. Bargaining with prices like that will have the owner ignoring you! Other than shopping, I was happiest tucking in to TWO plates of mango sticky rice at the food court. :D

I Love You Oh So Well November 15, 2009

Gosh, it’s gonna be Monday again? I feel like I haven’t fully re-charged during the weekend. -__-

List of things to look forward to at work :

  • e-Banking testing with Helen & Jessie — the project has come along smoother than I expected!
  • patching & late interest calculations with TayTay (bluekkk… wanna vomit whenever I use the nickname that Khamphai came up with) **this is really gonna be a pain in the butt**
  • programming for Cambodia – new pre-mature FD withdrawal calculations and multi-tier loans
  • testing with finance division on “constant yield”

I don’t think I wanna use the term “fml” anymore. It was funny for a while, but it’s so super negative lah. I don’t think my life is fucked if I’m late for something or if I lose something. Ok, so if I use “fml” some more, please stop me. And no, I won’t start going “mlia” (“My Life Is Average” for those not in the know) either. Heh.

And with reference to the very first sentence in this post — I decided that from today onwards, it will be my “sleep early, eat healthy” month. No sleeping any later than 12:30am (I know I should put something earlier, but let’s take baby steps, ok!) , and gonna eat healthy stuff and stop craving for McD’s Quarter Pounder with cheese, no matter how tempting it is. >_< Started today with a very healthy dinner of nicoise salad, protein shake, some fried four-angled beans and yogurt. Hmm… somehow after writing that out, it sounds kinda gross all mixed up together…

Oh, I didn’t know that Gym Class Heroe’s Clothes Off is actually a remake of an old song by Jermaine Stewart called We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off. Eh, I kinda prefer the latter! Check it out:

Found my pen drive, so here’s how I spent the 2nd day in Bangkok. After the Bangkok entries, we go back to London-related stories again, ok? Hahaha! <3

Travel : Back In Bangkok, Back From Bangkok November 10, 2009

It’s official — Bangkok is going to be THE city that I’ll be visiting the most in my lifetime (aside from KL, but I didn’t have to mention that right?)!! And I’m soooo happy that we managed to convert Alice and Raymond into Bangkok shopping lovers too! (We meaning Pauline, Tay and I). Somehow, us girls prefer roaming around Chatuchak, while the men prefer the convenience (and air-conditioning) of Platinum Mall. Either way, there’s fun for everyone. :P

The trip was already off to a good start, with us getting our rooms upgraded for no reason other than us being lucky. Had this most awesome room for only RM120 altogether (shared with colleagues mah… it’s actually RM120 per night). Shopping was good too, although I felt that I spent more this round, I found more “wearable” stuff than I did when I went in May. Kinda made a lot of mistakes shopping then — too many dresses that wound up being too short, and a few ill-fitting button-down shirts. So this round, I made sure that the dresses I bought were longer than usual, no strange pieces, mostly basic staple type of tops. I like my haul this time around! And so many cheap accessories! If you see me more be-feathered, be-jewelled or be-anythinged more than usual, well, what to do. Only RM2 for each accessory, who wouldn’t buy more. :D

Nothing much differed for my trip this round, except that we had less time because our plane landed in Bangkok later than before, and we had an earlier trip back to Malaysia. Oh well, no biggie because coming back early means that I could still make it for my gym night classes on Monday. :D And seriously, I had SOOOOOO much fun this trip. Thanks to Pauline for organising everything, Raymond who was our resident “terminator” and had to walk in front to clear the path for us WTF, Alice who is sooooo sweet and nice but can come up with random wtf statements that make us laugh (especially when the statements have to do with hentam-ing Raymond!) and Tay who came up with the worse joke of my life, something that the 5 of us just know as the “Squidman” saga. I might tell it here later, but no point because you just had to be there to fully enjoy the lulz.

Short entry cos I’m gonna be turning in soon :
