More pictures today!! Thanks to JW. I guess it’s okay to “expose” the spat of “celebrations” going on of recent… JW is leaving us. *tragic sob* Can’t really think of anything heartening to say to him because I only got to know him recently (which sucks because it’s like when you get to know someone, they are about to leave…). Wish him all the best in his new job and let’s have another great celebration this Friday! o(^_^)o

RANDOM PICTURES ON THE WAY TO GLORY BEACH RESORT:

In JW’s car, L-R: JW, myself, Ru & Justin. Which reminds me, today Justin said that I’m as crazy as he is… nOOooOoooo. For people who know Ken Ming, Justin is almost like Ken Ming, but slightly saner. =p

Sue, myself (strangling self with slingbag), Ru’s back, PL & Michael. Don’t know why we are all crowded around Michael’s open boot.

SUNSET CAMWHORING (TESTING THE CAMERA):

We hit the jackpot when we discovered that using flash didn’t really spoil the picture, but gave it a kinda cool effect. The only bad bit is that our pictures tend to look super imposed instead. And yes, testing the flash with JW because there was no one else around… yet!

L-R: PL, myself, Ru & Sue – the girls which came on the trip! See what I mean about the superimposed thingy?

PL & myself. The sun had already set, so the sky was the color of burning coals. The only thing we could all do was simultaneously go, “WAHHHHH” when seeing such a beautiful sight. Oh yeah, and then camwhore with me holding up PL’s staff tag… hahaha. (I had to deface the tag a bit so you won’t know which company we’re in…).

BARBEQUE-ING BANALITY

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Just started the fire going… it was pretty easy come to think of it. Just needed a couple of starters, no need KEROSENE or NEWSPAPERS as suggested by some “helpful” people. Needed Justin’s arm strength to keep fanning the flames though. L-R: Justin, Ru, PL, myself, Sue & Michael.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
While waiting for the fire to start, we decided to do some UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for a Smashpop jump the next day.

JW busy trying to open sparkling wine. Mwahahhaa… nostrils flared! =p

L-R: PL, Ru, myself & Sue. I was darn proud… skewered my first chicken wing.

The three of us in charge of skewering chicken wings. You can see that I take to the task at hand pretty seriously. Ru & Sue’s virgin chicken wing experience. =p

They told us they were trying for a ku wak zai pose, but ended up I’m the only gangstress amongst the lot. When Bean saw the photo, he was all, “wah!! ITD dai ka che!”. Something like that la. Spoil image only. =(

We took a crapload of these photographs. It was so relaxing to just lie back after all that jumping around. However, the morning sun caused everyone to become squinty eye, which was also kinda a cute effect. =p My team leader saw these photos and said that I should submit them to the company quarterly newsletter. LOLLLLL.

POOLSIDE ACTIVITIES

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Swimming race!! That’s me and Justin… =) And no, we weren’t racing… unless it was racing to get the volleyball. We were playing a spot of pool volleyball…. thingy. =pPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Random Road Trips May 1, 2006

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

Went to Port Dickson with my colleagues for barbeque. Then went to Malacca with them for lunch. My colleagues memang got a lot of petrol to waste. ;) It was rather random, Sue just asked us if we were going to be free for the Labour Day weekend, and when a bunch of us replied in the affirmative, it was decided that we would have a beach barbeque, followed by “beach activities”. Then when driving back from PD, JW got lost, and we saw signboards heading towards Malacca. He asked if we minded going there. Since we were all free, we just went along. Mainly cos JW said it would only take 45 minutes, but ended up taking 1 and a half hours. Grr! We were starving like mad, and we didn’t even manage to go to the “famous” Chicken Rice Ball shop…

The trip to PD took less than 2 hours. We drove from Bangi, directly after work, taking 2 cars (7 people going). I smartly “booked” a place in JW’s 1.6 Honda Civic since the other choice was a 1.3 Iswara. Hahahha. Sounds so bitchy, should be grateful someone else even volunteered to drive. =p Anyway, we planned to go directly after work (4:45pm), but because Sue had something to implement, we ended up leaving an hour later. Justin kept bitching all the way to PD about how he was going to miss his sunset. (Another purpose of going there was to enjoy sunset at the beach). It rained along the way as well, so the chance of seeing the sunset kept getting slimmer and slimmer.

JW said that Ru, Justin & I (in his car) only duty during the drive there was to eat all the snacks provided by PL. Hey, I helped PL make those egg sandwiches ok… =p

We finally reached our destination – GLORY BEACH RESORT. This place seems to be damn popular. That night, they held a company annual dinner there (got Erra Fazira, Misha Omar, etc), and the next morning there was a HUGE church gathering there. Anyway, it is a pretty okay place… we got a nice apartment with 3 rooms. Had a kitchen, dining area, TV area, and a ~beautiful~ balcony view.

And yes, Justin did get his sunset in the end. It was gorgeous! Breathtaking! Beautiful! Amazing! Words fail me!

We spent a great amount of time camwhoring with the sunset. Not that many great photos with me yeah? I’ll post some more photos from JW’s 7.1megapixel Canon camera tomorrow. I loved that camera so much!! =p

When the sun finally set and we were waiting for “moon rise” instead, we went for our barbeque instead. In our minds, we had a dream of setting up the barbeque pit on the sandy beach and then enjoying the sea breeze on soft sand and under bright lamps. Sadly for us, the resort didn’t have any barbeque pit, and the only area with a lonely lamp on it was at a very, very secluded area. The tide was also in, so there was NO BEACH at all. Mwahahahaa. But although it was not as how we imagined it (or at least, as I imagined it), we made do with what we had, and it was still very fun. Because of some random company having their annual dinner, we had live music, there were no mozzies, there were plenty of deck chairs around for us to park our bums, and the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC.

PL is a great cook… she marinated this dory fish, and it was so succulent and delicious. I couldn’t get any pictures because once it was cooked, everyone wolfed it down super fast. We also had chicken wings (marinated by PL’s dad… she actually called him up and we all shouted “UNCLE!! KAI YIK HOU HOU SIK AHHHHHHH” (“Uncle, chicken wings very very nice ahhh!!”)), prawns (superb!), crab stick (a bit weird), fish cakes and marshmallows!! Omg, I never had roasted marshmallows before… I feel so deprived. Now I feel like buying a bag of marshmallows and “roasting” it over a candle. When I told that to PL and JW, they said that it sounds like taking drugs. Hahhaa. We also had potatoes and corn, but didn’t get to roast them because we were STUFFED TO THE MAX.

But it was damn delicious and fun… all of us pitching in. Justin, JW and Michael manning the fire and cooking. PL is “head chef”, and Ru, Sue and I were in charge of skewering the chicken wings. =) Better pictures tomorrow, but here are some from my camera:

Got back to the apartment, and while waiting for everyone to bathe, we played some “love psychology” card games. It’s some kinda random ‘see if you and the person you like have fate’ thingy. Its quite funny… remind me to show you next time. =p Played a bit of chor tai di as well.. and finally when everyone was ready, we played drinking games. DAMN FUNNY. Didn’t get any incriminating photos of colleagues, but we managed to “peng” Justin. Hahah, he’s the type who would “risk” losing just so he can “kena” JW. JW is the one who thought up the games to play, so of course he wouldn’t make any mistakes. =p Those which were teetertollers, we allowed them to eat egg sandwiches instead of drinking. The drink was also not that heavy, just red wine. BUT I HATE RED WINE!! Ended up was mostly drunk by Justin, JW, Sue and myself.

Next morning, I was the last to get up for breakfast. Whether it was because of the alcohol or if I’m just a sleepy pig remains a mystery. After breakfast, we went down to the beach for “beach activities”. Which was mainly a bit of beach volleyball (fail), beach futsol (fail) and camwhoring (success!!). The main reason why we couldn’t play any games was because after the tide went out, the beach was completely slanted. Can you imagine playing footie on a playing field which is tilted 45 degrees? Not possible right? Plus, Justin keeps kicking the ball freaking far, until it lands into the sea (gross) and we got tired of chasing after the ball. Oh yeah, we also buried Justin and Rupa, but that’s a story for tomorrow (with pictures!!).

After the beach, we went to the swimming pool instead. Once I ran into the pool and cannonball-ed everyone, everyone moved to the other side of the pool. MWAHAHHAHAHAA. Just kidding, it was after me and all my colleagues did that did everyone move away to give us space. MWAHAHAHHAHA. Memang like “no civic conscience”. By the way, I have a pet peeve about people NOT wearing swimming suits into the pool, it’s like turning the swimming pool into a freaking washing machine. But seems like everyone in PD thinks that swimming is to be done in tee shirts and TRACK PANTS. Wearing swimsuit, memang felt out of place. When it should be the other way around. *ugh*

We had to check out at exactly 12:30pm… those people at Glory Beach Resort didn’t allow us even any more leeway. We were hoping to checkout an hour later because there simply wasn’t enough time for everyone to bathe. As it was, we left 30 minutes later, and they were a little grumpy over it. At least it wasn’t like ANOTHER resort in Kuantan that wanted to charge us extra because we checked out 30 minutes later last time. *phew* This was when we then left to go to Melaka. Actually, we wanted to spend another day in Melaka, but one of the colleagues *Had* to go back for a dinner appointment. Justin kept trying to convince JW to turn the car around all the way til the KL-Seremban highway. Thing was, we met up with PL’s father in Melaka (he was on holiday there), and he said that we could follow him around, as he knew of all the good makan places in Melaka. He listed off satay celup, cendol, AUTHENTIC chicken rice ball, barbeque seafood, etc… we were all drooling!! Felt so sad that we couldn’t stay back…

But you know what… this just means that we can organise ANOTHER trip there at another time. ;)
Oh yeah JW, you owe me Melaka trip + Korean BBQ trip now… hehehee.
