Completely Random Bits Of My Life

Welcome to the wedding of Mr Barry Banana Wong! May 15, 2009

Well, last Sunday was a not-so-early day for me. My colleagues woke up early and went down for free breakfast provided the hotel while I snoozed til 9am. Anyway, it was all for the better because there were only 4 buffet breakfast coupons and there were 5 of us. Apparently only 2 people to a room (you can tell by the photo I posted of the room yesterday – 2 singles), and you have to pay extra if you squeeze in another occupant. We didn’t get charged, but it was uncomfortable sleeping on two single beds pushed together. I felt like my butt was falling in between the cracks in the bed. Hahaha.

(Yeah yeah, so called uncomfortable but slept til 9am, hehe.)

Once awake, we went for our full body massage session which I’ve already talked long and drearily about a few entries ago. :P And after the massage we had lunch at a chicken rice shop store in Jonker Walk. It is NOT Famosa Chicken rice… honestly, I don’t know the difference or the syiok-ness of eating chicken rice ball. Basically… it is still rice. The only thing that matters is really the chicken itself and I think it’s comparable to the chicken rice shop store in Ipoh. Okay lah… the best part is all the chicken spare parts included and piled to one side. :D Me lovessss spare parts (except for spare tyre, haha. Okay, lame joke!)

After lunch, we rushed to buy our pineapple & apple tarts. Yeah, this was another reason why I wanted to go to Malacca — for the pineapple tarts sold at Jonker Walk! I highly recommend Madam Goh’s Pineapple Tarts (and not just because she’s my namesake) and the apple valentine tarts at Jalan Tokong (forgot the store name, but basically they are the only store to sell apple tarts that are styled like pineapple tarts).

Actually, we weren’t sure whether we would have enough time that morning to buy pineapple tarts, so we THOUGHT of buying them the day before. When we were at Jonker Walk, Pauline asked the store owner (Madam Goh) what time her store would be open. The lady said they open by 10am and said, “You better tell me how many boxes you want so that I can reserve for you.” In my heart, I was thinking “Sai mm sai (need or not) ah??” because she was SURROUNDED by boxes upon boxes of pineapple tarts and there were MORE pineapple tarts constantly coming out of the oven. But I have to say that when we came the next morning, her super arrogant husband was actually practically chasing customers away from the store. He was saying that all the boxes of pineapple tarts were already reserved and that they couldn’t even make enough to keep up with the demand. The Singaporean tourists in front of me meekly said, “Oh, they are that delicious? Could you give us a piece to try?” and he proudly replied, “I just said we can’t even make enough to sell!! How to give you even one piece to try!?” Wahliau…

Luckily we “booked” beforehand, so we got our 10 boxes with no further ado… as for the apple valentine tarts, no need to book beforehand for that one. Not as popular… yet.

I bought 7 boxes all together. I think there’s only 2 left now… :D

After our light tarty (hah!) shopping, we then proceeded to check out and then drive to Machap Baru, where Barry’s wedding was being held. For those who don’t know, Machap Baru is supposedly the “kampung” (village) area of Malacca. If you travel to Machap from KL, it’s 1.5 hours. If you travel from Malacca city to Machap Baru, it takes 1 hour, haha! For people like Raymond who left KL at 11:30am and called me up to “book place” for him at the wedding (in case he arrived late), he ended up arriving way early at 12:30pm while we sauntered in an hour later. Hahaha. Yeah, the wedding LUNCHEON was held at 2pm, of course being so “Malaysian time”, it only started at 2:30pm.

Where the wedding was held… haha.

WanLi, Pauline, me and Justin.
You can see Tun (looking thoughtful), Raymond (looking gormless) and Andric (looking talkative) in the background, hehehe.
My hair doesn’t look like it has been straightened right? Cos the ends are kinda dry… (previous dye job). Feel like cutting my hair as short as Pauline’s! But I think I can’t pull it off lah…

Girls only — shoooo Justin!

“Wedding gifts” for the guests… there’s a tambun biscuit inside it. I forgot to bring mine back. :(

The “zhi muis”…

According to Sifoo Wong, this is “kampung style wedding”… full of karaoke and the dishes are fresh & nice, but only 6 courses. The ‘dessert’ (usually ‘tong sui’ / red bean pancake / pau in hotel dinners) was an ice-cream cone! Hahaha. And because the wedding was held in a PRIMARY SCHOOL MULTI-PURPOSE HALL the place was swarming with flies! I had stomachache like mad from Monday – Tuesday, so I blame the flies! ISh… so couldn’t stand it. And yeah, nobody really bothered to dress up for the wedding lah, hahaha. But it was a really fun wedding because of all Barry’s old school friends who sang so many songs and told us that his middle name is “BERNADO”. OMG!! I kept laughing like a loon because I kept hearing it as “BANANA”. WTF. “Welcome to the wedding of Mr Barry Banana Wong!” *cue Leech laughing* It was only towards the end of the wedding that I realised it was “Bernado”, and the friend even told a story about why Barry was given the name, much to Barry’s chagrin.

“Six Seasons”… count ‘em!

Instead of sharks fin soup, we had some herbal soup with abalone, mushroom and chicken. Maybe the newlyweds are real environmentalists…

Roast duck and roast pork.

Steamed ‘ikan bawal’. Don’t know the English word for it… pomfret??

Herbal chicken aka “yok choy kai”… The best dish IMHO. :P

Weird dish of veggies, mushrooms, sea cucumber and YAM. O_o”

Scallops, abalone and tofu.

Nestum prawns. :)

Dessert!

Foo, WanLi and Pauline enjoying the last meal of the day. :P
The pink thing Pauline is holding is a fan. Did I fail to mention how HOT it was in the hall that day? And being a primary school, the toilets was in HORRIBLE condition… blehkz.

When we said goodbye & our final congratulations to Barry & wifey, Barry suddenly held on to my hand and said to his wife, “This is the girl who always says that I bully her!” WTF. The wife was also stunned into silence. Seriously, what would you do if your husband introduces a random girl to you on your wedding day in such a manner. I feel like killing Barry!!!

Anyway, you wanna know what is freaking funny? The guys in the office (typically) wanted to tease Barry about his “first night”, so they would coyly go up to him and say casually, “So Barry… so how’s it?” It has come to a point that Barry just tiredly replies, “Ya ya, it’s song.. very song.” (Song = fun / satisfying / syiok/ etc etc). HAHAHA. So honest! :P

Oh, okay I realise I’m missing a picture with the bride and groom… hahaha. I have a photo with Barry, but it’s in Pauline’s camera… I’ll update next time if I’m feeling hardworking… =)

Sleeping on the way back to KL…

Playing Tourist In Malacca May 12, 2009

Hey there! More about the Malacca trip since I’ve gotten more pictures from the trip from Foo (thanks!) who has a really nice Nikon camera. :) Okay, a little more background about the trip – we were actually supposed to go to Malacca on Sunday afternoon for my colleague’s wedding, but a bunch of us (Pauline, Justin, WanLi, Foo and I) decided to go earlier so that we could “play around” Malacca. Kind of a pay back for the time that Jo Wee said that he would show us around Malacca, but didn’t. :P

We left ITD at 9:30am, and reached Malacca City at about 11:30am. Found our hotel (The Baba House) with no issues. The hotel is really well-decorated, but the rooms were very simple and sparsely finished, which made Justin complain (his usual ‘mak nenek’ complains)… but I seriously thought it was pretty good. The hotel is pretty popular since it’s right smack on Jonker Walk… I saw walk-in customers get turned away.

The hotel lobby.

Foo is demonstrating how comfortable his bed is. He had to share a room with Justin.
Oh yeah! Raymond was initially SUPPOSED to join us on the trip, but he was afraid of sharing a room with Justin, especially when Justin wrote, “If you share a room with me, I will rape you.” Raymond — you’re SO lucky you didn’t come along because guess what? The guy’s toilet door had no latch! HAHAHA! Perfect place for Justin to ‘attack’ you if you came! :P

This was taken inside the hotel…

The hotel is located opposite the Eng Choon Association on Jonker Walk. You can’t miss it! :P

Started the day with a trip to Ming Sate Hut near Dataran Pahlawan / Mahkota Parade. This was probably my favorite eating place in Malacca. Basically, it’s an “eat all you can”, with the staff constantly piling more sticks of satay on your plate. You only pay for what you eat (55 sen per stick), so even if they pile on 50 sticks but you eat 5, you only pay for 5. The choices for the satay are : chicken, pork, pork spare parts and liver. Wah!! Super weird stuff that you can’t find easily in KL lor. So we piled up on the pork, spare parts and liver and thoroughly enjoyed the peanut sauce which had the secret ingredient (pineapple… not “kangkang”) which made it soooo uniquely yummy.

Malacca is seriously filled with colorful graffiti everywhere. This one is taken on the wall of some tattoo parlor on the same row as the store. You know the popular ‘two crazy chipmunks’ graffiti on Jonker Walk? Now it’s TOO popular ady, there are adverts hanging around the graffiti… so it spoils the whole picture. -___-”

Us ordering food / taking photos in Ming Sate Hut. It’s located @ G33, Jalan PM4 Plaza Mahkota.

Must haves during any satay sesh : ketupat (rice cakes) and cucumbers + onions. Only RM1 per plate!

Satay….

Justin insisted I take a picture of our drinks because his “watermelon milk ice blended is such a pretty pink kaler”. And that’s my pineapple honeydew ice blended. Soooooo refreshingly cool while eating piping hot satay. :D ~

I wound up eating 30 sticks! So malu… everyone else ate about 60% of that, hahaha. But it was really good, seriously.

After that, we walked over to Nadeje Patisserie, which is a cake shop once featured on 8TV’s Ho Chiak foodie channel. It is famous for its “mille crepe” which is something like a layer cake, but much more delicate and finer. Very very thin layers of sponge cake are interspersed with cream and sandwiched together. When you put it into your mouth, the cake “breaks apart” layer by layer in a most fascinating way. The texture is pretty addictive! 3 cakes shared between the 5 of us, and it just wasn’t enough. :) Had coffee and actually kinda lazed here reading magazines (Justin read ‘Men’s Uno’ until I said that I *think* it’s for gay men because the models would be modelling watches… in their underwear… not like I’m condemning anything — but don’t you think it’s weird you have to be in your underwear to model watches? I seriously have not seen women’s magazine with the ladies modelling expensive watches while wearing lingerie lor… usually they are styled in expensive, flowy dresses.)

Inside Nadeje, the cafe with the most delicious ‘mille crepe’ and the slowest moving waiters.

Pauline and I … always wearing pink caps.. hahaha.

Wan Li and Foo. Foo looks happy here because he found a map of Malacca that turned out to be 10% useful to us. :P

I still don’t know what calpis is, but apparently I should NOT ask the Japanese since all of them ALMOST know about it, but don’t ACTUALLY know about it. ;P

Clockwise from top left – chocolate banana mille crepe, strawberry cake (not crepe, just a very soft and gooey cake) and rum & raisin mille crepe.

Was pretty full at this point, so we agreed to just go and walk around Dataran Pahlawan. Oh yeah, earlier Justin had called Andric to ask him to help us book tickets for X-Men Origins : Wolverine, so much thanks to him as well. :D Zomg, and walking from the entrance of Dataran Pahlawan to the cinema takes about 30 minutes lor! Super far away and frequently getting lost. By the way, that shopping mall is filled with “high cholesterol seafood” if you get what I mean. (Hint)

The elevator in Dataran Pahlawan is like the elevator in “Charlie & The Great Glass Elevator”… can travel sideways!

Random pic : Pauline outside the Gundam toy store…

After the movie, we went to Jonker Walk… which is the main touristy place in Malacca IMHO. They even built this special stage area for performances to be held every weekend (at night — performance starts at about 7-8pm). All the famous eating restaurants are also here… well, supposedly. I can’t tell one chicken rice ball restaurant from another, so don’t trust me on the food, haha. Especially since we seemed to eat whenever we were especially hungry, so the food seems exxxxtra good. Anyway, we went to Jonker Desserts, which seemed to have a lot of customers. Ordered a mango ice kacang and an assam laksa here. The former was really good on that particularly hot afternoon, but the assam laksa just failed to impress. The only good thing about it was that the store owner was pretty generous with the fish meat, but it was like, pieces of fish as a “side dish”, the actual soup itself is just like water, not fishy soup. Hope you get what I mean, haha.

Inside the restaurant.
I wonder… somewhere out there on some blog, is there a random picture of me in the background of a restaurant? Kakakakaka~!

Foo & WanLi’s nasi lemak ; Justin & my assam laksa.

Pauline ordered baba salad for all of us to share…

My mango ais kacang. :3

Pauline, Foo & WanLi inside Jonker Desserts.

Walked around some more… then Pauline said that she wanted to eat “satay celup”. There was some tiff about this because Foo, WanLi and Justin said that they ate the one at Capitol before and that “you have to line up from afternoon til sunset, and then the food is not that great anyway”. So Pauline was sad that she wouldn’t get to eat satay celup. As for me, I don’t even know what it was! I thought satay celup is like satay, but with extra peanut sauce. Hahaha. In the end, satay celup is quite possibly the most unhygienic food we ate that day. You see, we were walking-walking around, and luckily for Pauline, we stumbled across a roadside stall selling satay celup. They had tables set up with a pot of curry-looking thing boiling in the middle. Something like “lok lok”, except that the “soup” is a thick spicy sauce. Similar to “lok lok”, the food is nothing like satay, but are things like fishball on a stick, tofu, etc.

Still bright & hot in the afternoon after the movie… not many people @ Jonker Walk.

The ‘satay celup’ sauce… where the ‘satay’ is ‘celup-ed’ into. This is just sitting around by the roadside ok.

The unenthusiastic couple, haha.

What we celup-ed.

Pauline was quite angry with us after eating there, cos the other 3 didn’t eat at all (said they were too full) and I ate 2 sticks to “pei meen”. So Pauline said we quite spoiled her mood, hahaha. Actually, quite malu to have 5 people sit down, and in the end only have 5 sticks eaten. Hahaha! Cos while we were eating, I was saying, “Huh? So this is satay celup? The sauce is right out here in the open. What if someone spit into it?” And then, “What is stopping someone from taking a bite out their fishball, then saying it’s not cooked enough, and then putting it back to boil in the pot?” And, “How often do they change the sauce anyway?” (According to WanLi, even Capitol doesn’t change the sauce… they only make it look like they do, but they recycle it… mmm… collective pool of saliva…

To while the time away, we decided to get foot massages! This was our first encounter with RC Reflexology, which I blogged about yesterday. The foot massage costs about RM38 and it consists of a “herbal foot soak” and wipe down, then your feet are massaged, followed by your neck and shoulders. The foot massage is REALLY good, yo. It was so good that we decided (on a whim) to walk to the Eye on Malaysia and seriously, I didn’t feel any pain despite walking around so much earlier in the day. Hahaha. Okay, maybe that’s because I had a lot of extra calories to burn. :P But my feet felt good… and I think RM38 for a foot massage is quite reasonable, duncha think so? :P

Out of the 5 of us, only 1 had gone to Titiwangsa and sat on the Eye on Malaysia. So surprised to find out it moved to Malacca (this shows we should erm.. pay more attention to the newspaper and such), it was practically fated for us to go and have a go on it. At first, we just wanted to see the thing, but when we reached there, turns out the ticket was only RM20, and if you’re Malaysian, you get 50% off! So worth it! So we went up and it was a pretty cool experience. :) FYI, you get about 6-7 rounds on the ferris wheel… it’s not very scary, and admittedly the view is probably not as fantastic as it would be if it was in Titiwangsa, but it was still really pretty and we had lots of opportunity for photo ops. Our favorite pic is this one, which Justin terms as “my wedding photo”:

Justin, WanLi and I… our wedding photo. Hahaha! Foo calls it over-exposed, but we think it’s super nice cos it looks so Photoshopped, when this is actually straight from the camera! It was caused by the spotlight from the ferris wheel just-so-happened to point in our direction when Foo shot the photo WITH flash on as well. So it was super bright!

Anyway, here are the other photos, most of them are from Foo’s camera.. super thanks to him. :) And there’s so many random pictures of me sitting around because I was actually trying to get a pic with the view behind me, but none came out really nice lah!! :( :( :( :( :(

Walking there… seemed to be “just across the river” but it was a good 10-15 minutes walk! Phew!

Picture of me with the Eye on Malaysia from afar… I look like a giant!

Me and a display gondola. Btw, the Eye on London’s gondola is MUCHHHHHHH bigger lah, can’t compare. This one would be quite a tight fit for 6 people.

All angles of this massive structure has been over-exploited by far better photographers with far better cameras than I, so I’ll just leave this one picture here. Hahaha.

Failed group shot taken by me… you know who’s who by now lah… but if you don’t…

Easier-to-see line-up : Pauline, Justin, Leechie, WanLi and Foo.

Me!

Me again… this time you can see… SOMETHING in the background… hahaha.

Photo from Foo, which he captioned as “Are you too scared to even move?” on Facebook. Hahahaha. Actually, I wasn’t! I just didn’t want him to take my photo cos I wasn’t ready! So I just stunned there, not sure what to do.
And what was even funnier was SiewFan commenting “nice necklaces Leech!” on Facebook …. wahahaha, I didn’t know the PRINT on my shirt was so realistic. :D

Picture of us walking back from The Eye…. Woooh… quite a fun experience! Was fun talking and joking with them while on the ride! Great company, peeps! :D

After the ride, we were all hungry again, so we walked back to Jonker Walk to have Nyonya food. By the time we reached, it was 11pm.. so the store was closed. Ended up having random wantan mee and mango cendol at a kopitiam that seemed to be doing brisk business. It was alright only… but the mango cendol was much better than the mango ice kacang from earlier on. By the way, we felled quite blessed that day because we didn’t have to wait long for food or for tickets. Everything seemed to go according to plan for us. Even if there were crowds, they seemed to come in when we were leaving. Felt quite syiok that day, hahaa.

Random coffee shop we entered. No, seriously I believe that somewhere out there, all of us have a random picture of us in the background floating around on someone else’s blog, someone who we do not know at all. Hahahha.

Foo scolded Justin – “You hyped us up by telling us we’re going for nyonya food, and then you make us eat wan tan mee?!?” It was just something to ‘alas perut’ – fill our bellies … that’s why I say that this trip is not really a foodie trip or anything. Just enjoyable main-main time. :P

The mango cendol… yikes, this is a bad picture, but it’s yummy.
Still… I miss ‘hui lao shan’ in Hong Kong. :D

Will continue tomorrow with the ACTUAL wedding itself, which is really going to be a short entry, trust me. Hahaha. Okay, I gotta go to sleep! Really excited because by the end of this week, I WILL NOT BE IN MALAYSIA… hahaha. Ciaoz! :D

Port Dickson & Malacca Trip With Colleagues 29/04/06 May 2, 2006

More pictures today!! Thanks to JW. I guess it’s okay to “expose” the spat of “celebrations” going on of recent… JW is leaving us. *tragic sob* Can’t really think of anything heartening to say to him because I only got to know him recently (which sucks because it’s like when you get to know someone, they are about to leave…). Wish him all the best in his new job and let’s have another great celebration this Friday! o(^_^)o

We hit the jackpot when we discovered that using flash didn’t really spoil the picture, but gave it a kinda cool effect. The only bad bit is that our pictures tend to look super imposed instead. And yes, testing the flash with JW because there was no one else around… yet!

Oh yeah, and then camwhore with me holding up PL’s staff tag… hahaha. (I had to deface the tag a bit so you won’t know which company we’re in…).

BARBEQUE-ING BANALITY

Just started the fire going… it was pretty easy come to think of it. Just needed a couple of starters, no need KEROSENE or NEWSPAPERS as suggested by some “helpful” people. Needed Justin’s arm strength to keep fanning the flames though. L-R: Justin, Ru, PL, myself, Sue & Michael.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
While waiting for the fire to start, we decided to do some UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for a Smashpop jump the next day.

Random Road Trips May 1, 2006

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

Went to Port Dickson with my colleagues for barbeque. Then went to Malacca with them for lunch. My colleagues memang got a lot of petrol to waste. ;) It was rather random, Sue just asked us if we were going to be free for the Labour Day weekend, and when a bunch of us replied in the affirmative, it was decided that we would have a beach barbeque, followed by “beach activities”. Then when driving back from PD, JW got lost, and we saw signboards heading towards Malacca. He asked if we minded going there. Since we were all free, we just went along. Mainly cos JW said it would only take 45 minutes, but ended up taking 1 and a half hours. Grr! We were starving like mad, and we didn’t even manage to go to the “famous” Chicken Rice Ball shop…

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The trip to PD took less than 2 hours. We drove from Bangi, directly after work, taking 2 cars (7 people going). I smartly “booked” a place in JW’s 1.6 Honda Civic since the other choice was a 1.3 Iswara. Hahahha. Sounds so bitchy, should be grateful someone else even volunteered to drive. =p Anyway, we planned to go directly after work (4:45pm), but because Sue had something to implement, we ended up leaving an hour later. Justin kept bitching all the way to PD about how he was going to miss his sunset. (Another purpose of going there was to enjoy sunset at the beach). It rained along the way as well, so the chance of seeing the sunset kept getting slimmer and slimmer.

JW said that Ru, Justin & I (in his car) only duty during the drive there was to eat all the snacks provided by PL. Hey, I helped PL make those egg sandwiches ok… =p

We finally reached our destination – GLORY BEACH RESORT. This place seems to be damn popular. That night, they held a company annual dinner there (got Erra Fazira, Misha Omar, etc), and the next morning there was a HUGE church gathering there. Anyway, it is a pretty okay place… we got a nice apartment with 3 rooms. Had a kitchen, dining area, TV area, and a ~beautiful~ balcony view.

And yes, Justin did get his sunset in the end. It was gorgeous! Breathtaking! Beautiful! Amazing! Words fail me!

We spent a great amount of time camwhoring with the sunset. Not that many great photos with me yeah? I’ll post some more photos from JW’s 7.1megapixel Canon camera tomorrow. I loved that camera so much!! =p

When the sun finally set and we were waiting for “moon rise” instead, we went for our barbeque instead. In our minds, we had a dream of setting up the barbeque pit on the sandy beach and then enjoying the sea breeze on soft sand and under bright lamps. Sadly for us, the resort didn’t have any barbeque pit, and the only area with a lonely lamp on it was at a very, very secluded area. The tide was also in, so there was NO BEACH at all. Mwahahahaa. But although it was not as how we imagined it (or at least, as I imagined it), we made do with what we had, and it was still very fun. Because of some random company having their annual dinner, we had live music, there were no mozzies, there were plenty of deck chairs around for us to park our bums, and the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC.

PL is a great cook… she marinated this dory fish, and it was so succulent and delicious. I couldn’t get any pictures because once it was cooked, everyone wolfed it down super fast. We also had chicken wings (marinated by PL’s dad… she actually called him up and we all shouted “UNCLE!! KAI YIK HOU HOU SIK AHHHHHHH” (“Uncle, chicken wings very very nice ahhh!!”)), prawns (superb!), crab stick (a bit weird), fish cakes and marshmallows!! Omg, I never had roasted marshmallows before… I feel so deprived. Now I feel like buying a bag of marshmallows and “roasting” it over a candle. When I told that to PL and JW, they said that it sounds like taking drugs. Hahhaa. We also had potatoes and corn, but didn’t get to roast them because we were STUFFED TO THE MAX.

But it was damn delicious and fun… all of us pitching in. Justin, JW and Michael manning the fire and cooking. PL is “head chef”, and Ru, Sue and I were in charge of skewering the chicken wings. =) Better pictures tomorrow, but here are some from my camera:

Got back to the apartment, and while waiting for everyone to bathe, we played some “love psychology” card games. It’s some kinda random ‘see if you and the person you like have fate’ thingy. Its quite funny… remind me to show you next time. =p Played a bit of chor tai di as well.. and finally when everyone was ready, we played drinking games. DAMN FUNNY. Didn’t get any incriminating photos of colleagues, but we managed to “peng” Justin. Hahah, he’s the type who would “risk” losing just so he can “kena” JW. JW is the one who thought up the games to play, so of course he wouldn’t make any mistakes. =p Those which were teetertollers, we allowed them to eat egg sandwiches instead of drinking. The drink was also not that heavy, just red wine. BUT I HATE RED WINE!! Ended up was mostly drunk by Justin, JW, Sue and myself.

Next morning, I was the last to get up for breakfast. Whether it was because of the alcohol or if I’m just a sleepy pig remains a mystery. After breakfast, we went down to the beach for “beach activities”. Which was mainly a bit of beach volleyball (fail), beach futsol (fail) and camwhoring (success!!). The main reason why we couldn’t play any games was because after the tide went out, the beach was completely slanted. Can you imagine playing footie on a playing field which is tilted 45 degrees? Not possible right? Plus, Justin keeps kicking the ball freaking far, until it lands into the sea (gross) and we got tired of chasing after the ball. Oh yeah, we also buried Justin and Rupa, but that’s a story for tomorrow (with pictures!!).

After the beach, we went to the swimming pool instead. Once I ran into the pool and cannonball-ed everyone, everyone moved to the other side of the pool. MWAHAHHAHAHAA. Just kidding, it was after me and all my colleagues did that did everyone move away to give us space. MWAHAHAHHAHA. Memang like “no civic conscience”. By the way, I have a pet peeve about people NOT wearing swimming suits into the pool, it’s like turning the swimming pool into a freaking washing machine. But seems like everyone in PD thinks that swimming is to be done in tee shirts and TRACK PANTS. Wearing swimsuit, memang felt out of place. When it should be the other way around. *ugh*

We had to check out at exactly 12:30pm… those people at Glory Beach Resort didn’t allow us even any more leeway. We were hoping to checkout an hour later because there simply wasn’t enough time for everyone to bathe. As it was, we left 30 minutes later, and they were a little grumpy over it. At least it wasn’t like ANOTHER resort in Kuantan that wanted to charge us extra because we checked out 30 minutes later last time. *phew* This was when we then left to go to Melaka. Actually, we wanted to spend another day in Melaka, but one of the colleagues *Had* to go back for a dinner appointment. Justin kept trying to convince JW to turn the car around all the way til the KL-Seremban highway. Thing was, we met up with PL’s father in Melaka (he was on holiday there), and he said that we could follow him around, as he knew of all the good makan places in Melaka. He listed off satay celup, cendol, AUTHENTIC chicken rice ball, barbeque seafood, etc… we were all drooling!! Felt so sad that we couldn’t stay back…

But you know what… this just means that we can organise ANOTHER trip there at another time. ;)
Oh yeah JW, you owe me Melaka trip + Korean BBQ trip now… hehehee.
