Today Sifoo took us youngsters out for lunch to “mengeratkan hubungan” (sorry, nothing I translate to in english sounds as … correct) of the team members. It was very touching, actually. :> Anyway, pictures another day because its getting to become a hassle to upload pictures from my camera / handphone. O_o And because today I want to share with you all some great pictures from a trip to Kuantan last time. Thanks to KIM KIM KIM for burning the pics for me!

Basically last time the bunch of helped a lecturer from our college out at this windsurfing event that his family organises. Actually, come to think of it I was a pretty lousy helper. I only did the signing-up / freebie packing / random packing up / random setting up, which was really light work. Most of the time they work the male helpers like buffalos in the paddy field, hoho. So this trip was really like a holiday. O_o Ya, and I vomitted into the sea when I was supposed to be looking out for which windsurfer came in first. Wow, what lousy nostalgic memories! (Oh look, my old webpage is still up!)

Anyway, without further ado, here are some nice scans of the event. This was about 3 years ago. Some are from Ken Ping’s camear, some from Kim’s camera, and the really good quality & nice shots are from Uncle Leo’s camera! Credits & kudos to all! :) And yes, I look like a burnt monkey in these photos, but photos > vanity, so here goes:

Kite surfing was also gaining popularity amongst the windsurfers..

I remember that after the event, I was so taken in by everything and everyone. These people were so passionate… so TRULY passionate about the sport that they sacrificed all their time and money into perfecting the art. I mean, this is so not a cheap activity, and if you want to learn, not only is there a huge “modal” you need to pay for the equipment, the lessons don’t come cheap either! And that lecturer of mine… he drives to Kuantan almost every weekend to surf. Well, no wonder he’s like the top windsurfer in Malaysia… but anyway…

I wanted to be like that! (Also because I was jealous of their abs / totally fit bodies), but in the end… alas… the fact is that I just lack that spark. That unadulterated love for windsurfing that they had. Then again, “belum cuba, belum tahu”. Just need a bunch of friends to go try it out with me, who’s with me! =B

**yeay got peeps for the 3JapaneseFest thing I posted up in previous entry! Any more? Come come come…**
p.s: the song we were singing is… “Pretty Woman” by Roy Orbison. ;P

(Ka)Yakking Trip November 8, 2004

Got my net connection back! Got my net connection back! *gleeful dance* Here are some photos from the Kuantan Kayakking trip earlier this month. Check out the last photo, Daniel has a GOOD body, I’m so jealous! I want to have abs like his, only I probably will never take up kite surfing to get the full body workout he gets. *sigh*

Me contemplating the overturned kayak.

Suddenly asked me to pose as the “Thinking Statue” when we were walking along Teluk Cempedak. Sigh, look like crap here, but the sky is a nice shade of blue!

At Pop Inn, Cherating. All of us holding up our drinks (you can see Grace and Kim in the background). Haha, Daniel’s milk coffee looks so out!

Kim and I. Don’t know what kinda pose we were doing. Some ninja thing, I guess. *shrugs*

My big butt up this tree. Actually, I cropped off my big butt so that I would like I’m way higher up the tree. =P

Photo with Daniel’s kite in the backdrop. L-R: Daniel, Grace (with the surfboard), Kim and me squatting there with the very asian ‘peace’ sign thing going on.

Windsurfing Is Too Awesome February 3, 2004

Editors Note : Er… talk about a short-lived idea…

Monsoon Madness has been a BLAST. As I told Uncle Leo (BB & Dan’s dad) and Kenny (the kitesurfing/kiteboarding instructor), I’ll be going back next year as a COMPETITOR. Yessiree, I am really sincere in going for windsurfing lessons. Uncle Leo offered me a one time offer of RM30 per windsurfing lesson (includes all windsurfing equipment), 2 hours a lesson. Only problem is going there every other weekend…But the cool bit would be that I’ll be the only Malaysian woman windsurfer competing in Monsoon Madness 2005 (if things remain the same as this year)!

The trip back took about 5 hours, cos we stopped for dinner (Dan paid). Was damn boring in the car, and I didn’t really know what to talk to him about. And when I talk to him, he can’t hear me , cos the radio is really loud. Generally, he just talks to Kim cos she’s in the passenger seat, and he knows her the most out of the 3 of us. So I just didn’t bother. And stared out of the car window like a retard.

But he was a nice guy. Dropped me off at the doorstep, and my parents aren’t home. I have no idea where they are… it’s really late. Maybe they went somewhere for the 3 day weekend. Whatever it is, he helped me carry in a carton of 100 plus (freebie from volunteering) and I didn’t open the house door, cos the house is a mess. HAHAHA. I got a brand new spanking Monsoon Madness t-shirt, Monsoon Madness cup and an ActionAsia binoculars (I won it in this pervy game). More on all these later when I get the pictures from my friend this Wednesday.

All in all, a great experience. I didn’t spend a single cent the past 6 days, and I had great food, met lots of cool people, made new friends, slept in a nice hotel room, had free beer and got great entertainment. Sure, there were some boring parts, and lifting Very Heavy Objects has made my waist super painful now (don’t make me laugh, my sides ache) and my face is sunburnt and PEELING. Yuck.

But I still love the Monsoon Madness 2004.

You don’t know how sad I felt when the bus I was in finally pulled away and the last memory of Kuantan was Chiau Ling at the bus station waving goodbye. *sob* It had been a VERY fun 5 days for me, and I really enjoyed myself with my friends. However, it has to be said that there really wasn’t much to do there in the monsoon season. There were a few places that we did not get to visit (Pancing Caves, waterfalls, Chiau Ling’s new house!), and most of the time we ended up in Teluk Cempedak.

Pictures!

Getting back home was easier than expected. The bus ride was boredom personified – I didn’t have my walkman, I didn’t have anyone to talk to… the only thing I could do was sleep. And I couldn’t sleep well because of the bumpy ride. The bus stopped at the Pekeliling station and I got worried (til a Darrah look-alike passenger reassured me that they WOULD stop at Pudu). Looking back, I don’t see why I was so worried. The Pekeliling stop is right next to the KL monorail station, and it’s also dead near my dad’s office. Grr. Bodo.

When I finally reached Pudu, it started drizzling, and I got a bit scared, as I was not sure of the direction to the bus stop. Guess who I met there? Yong Kang! He was going back to Johor. This is fate, quite possibly. ;P Anyway, from Pudu, it was easy to get a bus back to Subang. Only I was unlucky and the fucked up bus decided to empty us passengers out in Sunway, so I was left stranded there with my luggage. Luckily my dad was home, so he was able to pick me up.

Alls well that ends well. My parents LOVE Chiau Ling’s cookies and my brother has been munching on the caramel nuts non-stop. I was supposed to go out and watch Return of the King today (in commemoration with the return of The Leech to Subang? Mwhahha), but my dad made me fill in Streamyx forms, and then I’ve been stuck on the comp ever since writing about the Kuantan trip. Maybe I’ll go out tomorrow to celebrate Christmas… I’m dying to see the KLCC decorations anyway. *sigh* Only thing is I have no one to go out with now.

Oh well, at least I have a Christmas present (still unopened) from Ben and Chiau Ling. *grin*

Editors note: This was what I got from those two. Supposedly got special meaning (forgotten liow):
