All I Want For Christmas Is… Well It Ain’t You December 23, 2010

Christmas is just around the cornerrrrrr! What gifts are you getting for your loved ones? I don’t really have many people to buy Christmas presents for, and as I have to give out $$$$ for Chinese New Year (annual “hao soon” angpow), I don’t really have a giant budget to work with either.

I thought of writing out what I will get for each person this year, but some of the people listed may or may not be reading my blog. So to be on the safe side, that will be written elsewhere. :p But since this is my blog and I don’t mind lots of presents, here are some stuff that I would lurrrrrvvveee for Christmas (or birthday, or simply-wanna-buy-for-LC) gift ideas for moi. =)

a. Cooking / Baking Utensils

Specifically looking for stuff like : mixer, juicer, food processor, cupcake moulds, cake bundt tin, springform pan, bread maker, blender. Sounds as if I moved into my own place and looking to stock up my kitchen hor? *shy*

I bought myself an RM95 mixer from Carrefour, because I was tired of constantly borrowing my sister’s mixer. Plus, I think she was tired of me as well! I was making mini cheesecakes again for the cell christmas celebration, and it went down well with the people who attended, so I’m very much encouraged by my baking endeavours so far!

b. Make-up
I am a make-up-holic, and though I frequently say that I have way too much make-up, there *are* a few things that I would want to stock up on:
~ EverydayMinerals.com foundation. I use light olive and I use only 3 formula types : semi-matte, original glo, matte— I don’t use intensive
~ EverydayMinerals eyeshadows… pearl, shimmer or matte also ok with me. *thumbs up*

~ NYX make-up sets or eyeshadows
~ I don’t go for lip glosses anymore (very sticky…), so wanna stock up more on lipsticks. I wanna try Rimmel, more Maybelline and NYX stuff. =D

~ Benefit’s “Touch Me… Then Try To Leave Me” body cream, their lust dusters look very nice too, but I really should stop myself… and I’ve always wanted to try Benetint…

Mmm… scratch that, I’m not that much of a make-up-holic. I won’t do strange things like paste falsies 1cm away from my bottom lashes, heck, I hate wearing falsies too. I don’t draw my brows cos I think I have too much hair there anyway wtf. When I was in F2, I still remember my friend DULL drew a picture of me with what looked like two caterpillars above my eyes WTF. I don’t use lip liner and don’t curl my lashes. Not because I’ve got such long lushes lashes either, mind. Solely because I can’t be bothered. Curl ady or not, nobody notice also. *cry*

c. A new work bag
Something professional looking for my work bag. My current one is from Elle and I’ve used it for 3-4 years… and the wire for the bag is poking out and occasionally scratches those people trying to get near to me. Hahahaha… (mainly it is Tron la.. he scolded me once for my bag scratching him… it’s my bag that’s scratching you what, why scold me?)

d. Shower Stuff
I think that I mentioned before that visiting pharmacies are a joy for me because I just love trying new shower gels, shampoos, body lotions and such? I actually have an Ikea laundry bag filled with pharmaceutical supplies because they are irresistable for me. =p Plus, ever since I dyed my hair, I need all the hair treatment that I can get my greedy little paws on. At the moment, I have been eyeing:

~ haircare stuff from Liese, e.g: Hair Serum Cocktail, Juicy Berry Hair Mist
~ shower stuff from Lush (plan to get in HK next year, yeah I’m going there again!) – Mirror Mirror neck cream, The Olive Branch shower gel, H’suan Wen Hua hair therapy, Celestial Moisturiser or Vanishing Cream.
~ masks from My Diary Mask (something like that, right now they have a promotion. Used to be RM50 for pack of 7, now RM29.90, muwahahha)
~ not really picky actually, as I like shower stuff… just that I boycott Fruiser and Palmolive only because when I use those brands, I get eczema!

e. Sportswear
Includes bags….! I gave both my blue Reebok bag and almost giving away my red Puma silky bag to my mom ady. She always sneakily asks me to loan her a bag… then she doesn’t return it and I don’t ask back for it (cos I honestly forgot about it) and then the next time I remember that I even own a bag, I see it filled with schoolbooks. =p And to “inspire” me to continue working out after my knee is all better, I think I deserve some new threads la… Aiming more for 3-quarter pants and sports bras… enough tees for me…

f. Sunglasses
Tron introduced me to Oakley Polarized frames and now I’m so waiting to get my own pair. However, while I was mulling over the designs, I tried on a pair of Gucci oversized sunglasses and I look so cool! Hahahaha…
Me : “I look like Datin or not, Roberto?”
Tron : “Datinnnn…. “

OK, I got my own sunglasses already, you might have seen it in the previous Sg entry. ;P But those Gucci oversized sunnies are still tempting me. Goshdarnit.

g. Books
No romance crap please… I like cookbooks and aim to collect every Jamie Oliver cookbook. I also like books that teach great, classic Malaysian recipes (I look forward to the launch of RasaMalaysia’s cookbook!). And I like anything to do with funny economics related stuff. Always want to read, but stingy and end up reading the book while standing around in Borders. Muwahahha…

h. Shoes
The state of my shoes at the moment :
- Black wedges for work : sides of the shoe are peeling out, too stingy to buy new one
- Denim wedges for weekends : front part of the shoe has been fraying… bought cheap Thai-made shoes to replace…
- Thai wedges for weekends : … but the cheap shoes have very soft soles, so little stones keep getting wedged into the sole, wtf?
That’s basically it. All other shoes have at least 3.5″ – 4″ heels which are for VERY special occasions and not for the purposes outlined on top. It’s so ironic that the things that I need to use the most often, are the ones that I have problems with (probably caused by wear and tear la) while the ones for special occasions.. look like they just came out from the shoe box.

Hmm.. could only come up with 8 items that I desperately need. I left out the house and car this year. Everyone already knows I want a condo, and a Mazda 6. No one is actually willing to donate said items to me though. ;p

((I found that I had already written something quite lengthy about my birthday wish list, so disregarding my previous post, I’m going to put it up. I’m probably buying 99% of the stuff myself, so it doesn’t really have a purpose… but the pictures are so pwetty! So yeah, enjoy! =p And yes, I know it’s similar to my existing wishlist, just that this one has PICTURES! OMGZ! ))

Application programming update : Again, I’m thinking if I should bother with Triple Des Encryption when I’m the only one using my particular application. At the moment it’s easier to crack than an egg. Also, I’ve gotten stuck at an updating error and have been too arsed to continue troubleshooting. *goes back to programming*

Without further ado, here are some items that I want for my birthday this year (I know, I make shopping for ME easier). Thanks in advance. ;p

1. Shoes Shoes Shoes!

>> purple Skechers for gym. If I posted up pictures of my current shoes, you would feel like you could smell the stench through your screens. [I have RM100 voucher for Skechers shoes, yay!]
>> red & black Adidas for futsal-ing. ;p [not like I go that often, but doesn't it look snazzy?]
>> Nike Cortez for regular, normal use / dance. Nice, no? I love the Nike Cortez design, although it doesn’t look very hardy.
>> round-toe flats, because they just look so cute. This is my first foray into the world of flats. Usually I do not wear anything without at least an inch or two of heel. ;p
>> maryjanes for corporate chic. Note : I do not necessarily want Jimmy Choos / Chanel ok.

2. Spectacles

Square-framed glasses look best on me, me thinks, and I don’t want something expensive, so I’m choosing plastic over metal. And I’ll only be wearing this at home to ‘rest thy eyes’ since I’ve been having eye problems over the year or so. T_T Thing is, despite my eye problems, I continue to use lenses because of vanity and because glasses can cos a pretty penny, especially with my high eye power. =\ I want mine to be red!!

3. Jeans

I’m currently on a witchhunt to get the perfect pair of jeans. I know my gams are nothing to shout about, hence I’m really interested in the Levi’s Ladystyle jeans which are supposedly guaranteed to hide fat legs like mine. T_T I’m usually a huge advocate of Topshop jeans though, so if Ladystyle still can’t help me, then it’s back to Topshop for me. ((Anyway, I need to use my RM100 Topshop voucher soonest possible. ;p))

4. Forever 21

I started out wanting to say “clothes”, but then I realised that I specifically wanted a lot of things from Forever 21. I think its got a lot of good variety, although it is pricey (still think it’s cheaper than Topshop & Warehouse, etc though!). *sigh* Pretty dresses, cool t-shirts, boho skirts, sexy tops, they have everything! I’m keeping my fingers crossed to win a certain Forever21 contest. >=)

5. N90

I think this phone is supergorgeous, and I’m pro-Nokia solely because it seems very hardy. =D But this phone is superexpensive too, I don’t know if I’m willing to part with my money that easily. Plus if I ever drop it, I would cry 30 days and 30 nights. =( I am trying to get brainwashed by my sister into thinking that all the functions the N90 has to offer is not necessary for me (true). However, it’s the only phone that I really, really want after I got jaded by the Razr.

6. Digital Camera

“If a chef prepares a good meal, you do not praise him for having good pots & pans. Similarly, if a photographer takes a good photo, you do not praise him for having a good camera.” True, but there have been many shots that I’ve failed to take because my camera can’t take action shots. =( Also, only 3x optical zoom and 3.2 megapixels, need I say more? =(( I also want a tripod, not the tiny Sakura one that I have. Something bigger. ;p

7. Ipod

Or mp3 player, I’m not picky. I just want something to listen to at the gym / car because I’m
REALLY sick of stupid people on the radio (no offense).

8. Gym Clothes

Because I dress like an aunty going to the market to the gym. Nobody cares, but I do. And that’s who matters, right? And I don’t really mind, but the fact is that it’s very difficult to do a descending elbow when you’re swimming in a huge tee-shirt. Note: I don’t necessarily want Stella McCarney for Adidas stuff, I just want to look presentable.

9. Watch

An article in Youth2 a few weeks back said that watches were going out of style as they were “obsolete” items. I don’t think so! It’s very awkward to keep fishing your handphone out just to check the time, and it’s worse when I do it in meetings. Besides, a watch completes an outfit very nicely. =) Anyway, I specifically want the Guess anniversary watch (yes yes, the one which Amber Chia modelled). I think it’s really pretty, can’t decide pink or white. (I know, how unpractical!)

10. Estee Lauder Blockbuster Makeup Set

I’m debating over getting the blockbuster make-up set from Estee Lauder (only RM200 if you buy something worth RM168 first!). The pictures here are different “Blockbuster Sets” available overseas. Basically the same, just that the one in Malaysia has a red snakeskin bag kinda casing instead which looks more chic than the plain bags pictured here. =) Basically it contains the basic make-up essentials for creating any look you desire.

Hahhaha, I just realised that for all the items pictured here, I’ve entered a contest to win it before (except #10). *sigh* Me got no confidence, so am ready to hand over ca$h for abovementioned items. -__-” Ok, I know la, no one will buy those things for me, so here’s my non-greedy birthday wishlist (actually I don’t expect anyone to buy me anything la… so old already still hard up for birthday presents meh??)

1. A group of friends to go clubbing / karaoke with
Because its been so long since we all went clubbing. There was the Bar Blonde one, which was real cool, but I wanna go somewhere which plays different type of music. =p And if you all go karaoke, sing english songs, don’t all go and sing chinese songs and make me feel left out on my birthday. =p Anyway, if you read this… you know la what I hard up for. =p

2. A friend to go pig out with
The rules of pigging out : absolutely no mention on being on diet / no money. Going dutch, not expecting you all to treat me, just want someone who can enjoy good food with me. =)

3. A friend to go on full-day marathon at gym with
The rules of full-day marathoning : absolutely no mention on not going for a class because don’t like the instructor / cannot dance. If at Celebrity Fitness, must aim for 7 classes in a day, if Fitness First, give chance … at least 4 classes! Anyone up for the challenge? It’s free, if you’re a non-member I have guest passes too. =p And we can have sushi at Sakae Sushi in between classes cos it’s healthy!! =p

4. Rojak

Cos my team leader bought some for me the other day and it was damn damn nice. I want a hugeeeeee plate of rojak…..!!

5. Socks

Because a gym-goer can never have enough socks! Nothing too fancy (like applique strawberries, hanging pom-poms)… cos that’s just crazy behavior in a gym.

6. Books
Any kind except Dan Brown. By now you people know what I like, but basically I like Amy Tan, Neil Gaiman, John Steinbeck (I only own Grapes of Wrath, everything else I read from Sunway College library), Haruki Murakami, Terry Goodkind, Oscar Wilde (but I have all his books), Roald Dahl (ditto), etc. Also, not forgetting my mission to collect all books in the Discworld series.

7. Nice dinner with friends
Come one come all to my birthday party, I’ll send out invitations later.
If you didn’t get an invitation that means I forgot to organise one. Ask me for an invitation to remind me. *paiseh*

8. A roadtrip with friends
Let’s go somewhere nearby together! Seremban? =p

I can’t think anymore! But yeah, you get the gist right? I just wanna spend loads and loads of HAPPY TIMES with my friends and family. So if I know you, and you know me, then lets do dinner, watch a movie together, or have some group outings… nyehehehe. =) My family so sad because I am not going to be around to celebrate my birthday with them. AWWWW. Actually, they just want me to pay for dinner, and you know what… I DON’T MIND. Let’s go all out, babeh!

I just watched finish So you think you can dance? on TV, and it’s damn nice to watch. My gosh, these people really make me feel small, although some I didn’t think were that good got selected (because of good looks). Anyway, there’s a difference between a good dancer and a good performer, and on TV, a good performer will always get selected, while the former is not guaranteed an in.

Okay, happy day today, even though I have to work tomorrow. My team leader gave us some $$ for lunch and I feel .happy. Sometimes I feel so cheap because I am willing to work 8 hours for a free lunch, haha! =p Besides, after work, I get to have dinner with Pauline, OneEye and Michael before we watch GUANG LIANG in concert. YEAHHHHHH!!!! *hyping self up*
