I like to be the tactical specialist / consultant type, but I don’t like to be the executor. The brains behind the outfit, so to speak. I don’t like managing PEOPLE.. in fact, if you ask if I prefer to work alone or in groups, I prefer to work alone. And since I’m a self-professed NON people person, how can I be the social butterfly that they say I am in number 3? Although I like an active social life, it does not mean active social life surrounded by people. I find it very draining. Active social life can be participating in social networking stuff, but from the sidelines. I like to know what is going on, but definitely do not like being in the limelight. Maybe you think this is a “do all the work and let someone else bask in the glory” kind of thing, but as long as I am amply rewarded for my own efforts, I don’t mind. I am not the fame seeking sort, seriously…

What’s In Your Bag, Hun? July 22, 2007

Er, see this is one of the backlash from not having a car. I only ended up going out at about 8pm today to get makeup for the annual dinner and ended up with two cheap eyeshadows from Elianto (??) worth RM5 each. =D Then I didn’t switch off my sister’s headlights because erm… I forgot. My car usually makes a beeping sound to warn me that my lights are still on. *sigh* Luckily my neighbour saw me leaving the lights on and RAN over to the house to inform me about it… such a nice man.

Er… and yay, Pauline is fetching me to work tomorrow. I feel so blessed that she is willing to drive thru early morning traffic to Subang. T_T <– tears of joy. Meanwhile, I'm sitting up here and wondering what I am doing still up. I admit — I expected more Harry Potter spoilers up by now and then I can act all smug and self-satisfied that this year… this year for THE book of the series, I managed to remain completely un-spoilered. Wahhahaa! Erm… oh and I bought Mr NXY and Mr Director Famous Amos cookies. In nice tin boxes. I know la, it’s nothing for rich people, but I hope they can see it as a sincere token of gratitude. =P

Jen tagged me with a “What is In Your Bag” meme. Wah… she also thinks that I sure will have a lot of nice accessories in my bag. WHERE GOT!! Jen’s stuff is so nicely color-coordinated that I’m almost ashamed to post this picture up, but here goes, this is how messy my bag is (which explains why my car was so hard to clean out too).

Balenciaga Hot Pink Bag (for Work): (yalah, I know I have a really inappropriately loud bag for work, but I’m not the need-to-meet-clients type of person. More of a I-need-something-to-haul-everything-up-to-the-office-stylishly.
White Area : Cassette tapes – Take That’s Greatest Hits and Mariah Carey’s Rainbow. Reason it’s in my bag is because I had to clear out my car after the you-know-what, and hence, dumped it here.
Peach Area : True Fitness water bottle. See above as to why it’s inside my office bag.
Yellow Area : Important documents, and then some. There’s pay slips, credit card bills, pin numbers for credit cards, MAPS (printed from Malaxi – fab site, how-to-apply-for-US-visa checklist, bank book.
Green Area : Name cards, some loyalty card for some juice outlet, Touch N Go card which probably has less than RM5 balance in it.
Aqua Area : Staff tag, hands free kit, L’oreal lipstick in Raspberry (my fave), a small gift bag that used to contain chocolates (which I kept because it looked so cute), Trailer Trash mirror from Oz (thanks to Dull), Nasioncall slip (Nasioncall suckz), diskettes, Counterpain, Ipod video.
Hot Pink Area : my Guess wallet (from Sg – remember him? ), N73 (1 year old birthday present from the bf), old black wallet which I’m wondering why I haven’t thrown away).
Red Area : Group X Schedule for Fitness First. I have about SIX of these booklets with me. Kiasu betul.
Purple Area : Random seashell keychain souvenir from Mr NXY yonks ago, some transistor thingy that Simon bought to fix my radio last time, my photo, stamps, pens, earrings, hair accessories (funny considering that I don’t wear my hair up in the office), my 50 sen collection (part of it). Mr NXY was amused to see the 50 sen collection because he collects 50 sen coins too!

Hmm.. this makes me realise that there are some things missing from my bag. Like my eyedrops, my THUMBDRIVE and my watch. Oh well. Was expecting tonnes more garbage in here, so can’t say that I’m too disappointed with the outcome. I tag:

Tagged For Music from 6 Years Ago… Or Something Like That May 30, 2007

I’ve been going to the gym like mad (five days in a row now!), sitting up here running SpyBot and having to do my laundry three times a week instead of twice. O_o” Well, at least I’m not like my naughty boyfriend who does his once a fortnight. -__-” Anyway, with time to spare, it is time to do a tag!! Thanks to Fiona, who doesn’t like tags but always gets tagged. ^^

I don’t quite understand what the tag is about. I think it’s listing out 5 of the songs I liked back when I was 18 (6 years ago!)? Okay, that was the first year of college, SHOULD BE EASY KUA. Here goes nothing.

1. The Space Between – Dave Matthews Band
This song just got me at, “You cannot quit me, so quickly…”. Very romantic, very good for emo, love-struck teens. Anyway, college years was my great big DMB-loving years. Many of my friends knew I liked DMB, and I remember even once they asked me to pose a picture depicting “The Space Between” with a crush. Haha! Randomness!~ This is one of the more famous songs from the band, so if you don’t know nuts about their music, this would be a good song to get to know them. Although I would recommend stuff from their Under the Table & Dreaming album though!

2. When It’s Over / Answer The Phone / Ode To The Lonely Hearted – Sugar Ray
Another band that I was very into back in college. I even made a fansite for them for our web applications assignment. Incidentally, I’m currently going a web components programming course @ work, and I have to say that the web applications course in college is PURE SHITTINESS EASINESS. It’s like, you don’t even have to go for the web apps course in college to learn what we did. You can just right-click and view source. And you’d probably learn more that way.

Anyway, I digress. I just loved Mark McGrath & company. When It’s Over and Ode To The Lonely Hearted is a bit more melancholy than their usual cheekier songs, but still very catchy. Answer The Phone is another good song for love-lorn teenagers to emo to. Especially love-lorn, semi-stalkerish teens like me. Answer the Phone! I know you’re at home!, wtf wtf wtf.

3. Drops of Jupiter – Train
Ok, I liked this song + video so much that I designed my first blog all around the lyrics of this song. Y’know – Tell Me, Did Venus Blow Your Mind?. The lyrics are really random actually… I can’t really tell why I like the song now, come to think of it. At least their current one Get To Me, I think I can identify more with it. Especially the time when my boyfriend actually managed to miss a flight back to Malaysia. Ah-ha, the lyrics of I don’t care how you get to me, just get to me was so apt. ^^ I know I digressed again, but we’re still on the same subject on Train right?

4. Clint Eastwood – Gorillaz
All of us at college loveeeeeeed Gorillaz when they came out. Hehe. I just love the part when they come in with “Finally, someone let me outta my cage”. And of course, the cartoon characters were such a good idea, so cute. I know KRU kept saying that they came up with the idea first (of having ‘mystery’ singers represented by cartoon / 2D imagery). Then again, I no longer remember what band KRU was supposed to have been behind, but we all know Damon Albarn for Gorillaz. ^^

5. Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader
Now doesn’t this song make you feel like getting on the dancefloor? So romantic!!!!

Okay, I suck at giving good descriptions for the songs I like. If you think my music taste sucks, then too bad for you. *la la la prances away…* And in return, I tag NO ONE because people hate being tagged.
