Completely Random Bits Of My Life

Not-So-Fit Leech August 4, 2011

Don’t know why, no matter how much cardio I do now, I don’t seem to be losing weight. I’ve cut out carbs from my diet (yes, I am dieting again!) , try to eat less fattening stuff – even on the weekend (previously, weekend was the time to INDULGE), and people say that going to the gym 3x a week is good. But for me, who used to go 5-7 times a week, it’s like damn lame. My gym instructors who I used to be so buddy with are like STRANGERS to me. This is so sad…

I did try to show “support” for the gym again. I randomly went for their boxing ring opening event in Jaya 33. They had a Body Combat theme class, whereby the instructors used the boxing ring as their stage, and we did BC around the ring. It was quite disastrous, actually! Because the instructors stood at 4 corners of the ring, people got easily confused as to where to run. The space was soooo small (there are SO many avid gym-goers in J33!) and if you run in the wrong direction, you can easily hit someone else. There was one instructor near me tried to show the “correct” moves, but sometimes he also salah, lol. Add to that, there was one aunty near me who kept coughing like gong to cough up a lung, but still wanna do BC! Geez!

The sound system was also really bad. The instructors themselves couldn’t hear the music properly, so cues also out. Very no mood to do lah, but I have to say that the crowd really pei meen, after all it was the super stars instructors teaching that day. :) It is their personality and inspiring moves that shone through that day despite the bad sound system and the confined spaces.

The only other  good part about doing BC near the boxing ring was that the iron floor provided a good grip. Much better than the wooden floor boards!

I think I look fantastic on the floor, but donno why, these are the only pictures they managed to capture of me. WTF.*sad face*

Today, thought of going swimming after work. I think swimming is a great form of exercise… cos no impact on the knees. But it rained!! Geez… so I took it as fate and decided to run on the threadmill instead. Thought I’m still hyper like last time, can run at 10kph for “so long”. I decided to just do it for 25 minutes… and by golly, when I stepped out of the threadmill at the end, I was totally soaking and I was dizzy! I stumbled all the way back to the changing room and sat down, and waited to catch my breath. A nice lady asked me if I’m ok… and she thought I did Bikram Hot Yoga!! You know how much you can sweat in that class? You will be that drenched! So that was how much I was sweating, hahaha.

Anyway, the good news is that I still managed to run, and NO KNEE PAIN! Glory, glory, Hallelujah!! Maybe I can do a marathon this year after all! Must start training again…

… was awesome! 90 minutes of purely “old” tracks (from up to 5 years ago… or did Alex say “at least” 5 years ago?!)… which is right up my alley because I’ve always preferred the old tracks of yore. Nothing against new releases, in fact, I would be lying if I said I didn’t like any of the new releases. Just that it wasn’t so hardcore last time… it was much much more fun. As evident from last Monday’s class. Everyone was totally enjoying themselves to the tunes of Power of Love, Jump, Power of Snap, Mangas Verde, Shake, Dreamer, … the list goes on and on. You didn’t expect me to be able to remember a track listing for a 90 minute class, didja?

Actually, before the class, I kept “hinting” to both Terence & Alex that Iwant a prize. Hahahah! Cos I haven’t joined quarterly releases in a long while.. my stockpile of prizes has dwindled, e.g: tumblers and various TF memorabilla. They both ya-ya-papaya me, but in the end didn’t give me jack! Hmph!

But at least got some cool pics (thanks to Su Yee for uploading!) . Check it out:

This picture is of 2 of my fave Body Combat instructors… Terence & Alex! But I also have to highlight that I’m in the pic! ;p I always stand on the left side of the class… hehehe. And in front… cos I like looking at myself in the mirror. *shameless*

Quite like this photo… I look quite macho hor?

Group pic!

Group pic New Zealand ‘Hakka’ style. :P (By the way, the theme was “Army Green and Black” and from these group pics, I think you can tell who won the best dressed award. :P )

Gym Stuff : Clash of the Titans August 21, 2008

I’ve been having a really mindfcuked day, so excuse me if I don’t blog too much. Nothing serious, but lots of things that people do or say that makes you wonder whether a brain exists inside their skull. Anyway, continuing the seemingly “healthy sounding” post from before, let me present to you some photos from a theme class True Fitness had at Jaya 33 recently (6 August 2008 to be exact).

The theme was “Clash of the Titans” and I already blogged about it here. :) It was great fun, I wasn’t feeling 100% myself (was tired from earlier workouts), but still managed to work up buckets of sweat. I think myself so macho, but when I went through the photos that Su-Yee put up, omg, so malu. I look so funny! Hehehhe. Anyway, I took the pics from the GX Multiply site, all credits go to them. :)

This is one of my favorite pictures, so I’ll post it first. Mainly because you cannot see my face, and from the back I look quite gung ho, hehehe.

Us on the floor, starting from that lady in the center of the photo… she looks quite stylo right? Then we have Pauline… also looking very fierce! And then in the corner… there’s me!! Looking like I’m scared of the invisible enemy. *dush*

Simone & Alex have to mop up Terence & Nicholas’s sweat… hahaha.

So full of “semangat” right!! You see them on stage giving all they’ve got and you too will be inspired to push yourself harder… sweat more… etc etc.
Terence is the one on the left, Nicholas on the right.

Oh, this is a bleeding weird picture. Terence threw the prize at me from the stage (so ganas right) but Su Yee kindly said we should take a “prize presentation” photo together, so I had to go on the stage. Sadly, the instructor is too busy posing, so it looks very disjointed. Random Leech holding prize like newborn baby, and random instructor ready to punch someone’s lights out! O____o”

Haha, I don’t know what’s happening here. How come Alex looks so active, but everyone behind him (note : me on the left hand side) looks like they are wandering away and laughing?

Group picture #1

Group picture #2… this one is supposed to be one where you’re making a funny pose. As per usual, I end up as the idiot who has the worst looking pose while everyone else still smiles sweetly.

For videos, you can check out this entry of Su-Yee’s. :) Thanks to True Fitness & Instructors & GX coordinators for always organising classes like these. And thanks for the Yogood! too, kekekeke… :P p

I Love Pressies… Gimme Gimme More! Gimme More! August 7, 2008

Eh, it isn’t my birthday but I’ve been getting gifts left and right. :P Went for this “Clash of the Titans” Body Combat theme class @ Jaya 33 today. Didn’t really plan to go because it’s gonna be soooo crowded, but Pauline was quite gung-ho about it, and I *am* supposed to exercise more too… :P Since it wasn’t really a theme class (the dress code is a simple “all black” which I didn’t 100% adhere to anyway), I didn’t expect them to give out gifts. However, at the end of the class, Alex C, Nicholas and Terence could give out this present to anyone they choose. HAIH, SO PIN SAM ONE!! HOW CAN CHOOSE LIKE THAT!!!

Er… why am I complaining ar, I also got a gift, MWAHAHAHAHHAA!! Thank you Terence!! *_* Team Terence forever!!! Anyway, I already won these stuff before participating in two other theme classes… so as Terence said, I will be passing them to Pauline (since she’s the one who motivate me to go today as well). :P No regrets, it was a really fun class although I was a bit exhausted… doing two circle tracks in a row kinda do that to you. T_T

When I reached home after grocery shopping like an auntie… found a Pos Laju package… from Iza! This woman was completely uncontactable the past few MONTHS, getting to be quite a high-flyer, hehe. Last time was giving talks and presentations in Canada, and most recently, in London! In the Pos Laju package was the souvenirs from her overseas trips that Fazlynn and I bugged her for. :P Wahhhhh, I like!!

As for myself, nothing new to report. People keep giving me photos from all the events and trips that I’ve been to this year, and I take so long to pool my pictures as well. I remember Kim was telling me that she must URGENTLY give me the photos because “don’t tell me you want to blog about Batam a few months later right!” HAHAHA! Zomg, it’s already 1.5 months since Batam and I didn’t even sift through ALL the pictures yet.

Maybe you’re wondering why I need to write everything down so diligently. Honestly, I’m afraid that I will forget every single blissful detail. The longer it takes for me to blog, the more details are forgotten, and it really scares me. I’m really a short-term memory kind of person (except in the case of holding grudges WTF), things that happened yesterday seem like forever ago. When I go through my pictures, I remember enough to hammer out an entry, but the picture painted is with a broad brush and I feel annoyed that I don’t remember what *really* happened. Hmm…

Will blog more tomorrow, am just so freaking sleepy now. One last pic from last Saturday’s annual dinner. I’m with two of the ITD staff who took part in the Lion King performance, Mr Cheetah and Ms Singa Betina aka Fazlin (sp?).

OMG, child bearing hips ftw. No wonder when I walked out of the house my mom was saying, “YOUR DRESS A BIT TIGHT, NO?!?!” I was already late, so despite suddenly feeling like a bak chang, I just dashed to Sunway Pyramid. This explains the lack of photos, hehehe. BTW, the dress / top was from Victoria’s Secret, it’s on sale since er, 2 years ago? 6 ways to wear it and I wore it in the most conventional, halter-dress way. -___-
