Completely Random Bits Of My Life

Hennessy Artistry Malaysia ft Kat DeLuna, DJ Sky Nellor & Broken Scar December 16, 2007

Was driving to work on a Friday morning when I heard about the Hennessy Artistry party at Zouk that very night. Actually, I saw the poster for this event when I was at Zouk with Fuzz on the 1st, but there wasn’t much details so I just put it out of my head. Don’t know why, I suddenly felt like going when in fact I had planned to go for the Body Combat Launch at Jaya 33 that night. You can check out the Star online article about it here.

Started searching around for kaki. First in my mind was none other than Kim since I went with her to Shanghai for the Hennessy Artistry party there last year (thanks to MTV). Also, after that event, Kim was the one who forwarded me articles of other H.A. events happening in Malaysia. Kim was pretty enthusiastic about it, called Grace (her sis) and her friend (YC) to go as well. Wow. Even I myself was stunned that everything so last minute also could be arranged. Thank God for it being a Friday as well because I could leave work, drive to Taman Paramount to grab my new contact lens (yes! I no longer need to be a four-eyed leech!) and still had time to leisurely get ready back at home. *proud*

Photobucket
Wah, even had time to camwhore before leaving.
Why do I look so naturally cunning? -____-

Anyway, regretted going for the event la!! It is nothing at all like the Shanghai one, and I’m not even comparing things like the artistes who performed or the quality of the artistes (DJ Sky Nellor played at both events, I was most excited to see her cos she ROCKED Shanghai ok! Everyone was dancing for more than 1 hour straight with no signs of stopping!). It was EVERYTHING ok. Not starting on time, making people wait donkey years between each act, people actually PARTYING in Shanghai… *goes on and on* Damn stupid la, they advertised the event to start at 9:30pm, but the first act only came on past 11pm. They didn’t even bother to introduce DJ Sky Nellor properly and gawd, the tracks she played were so different from the ones in Shanghai. I only properly got into the mood during Golddigger or Umbrella (which ever came first). Sigh, after listening to that “Never Scared” Chris Rock skit, I really can’t dance to ANY random shit anymore. If you haven’t watched that skit, go watch, it’s fcuking hilarious, especially the one where he’s dancing and singing, “Smack her with a dick! Smack her with a dick!” Damn WTF.

Ya, I digressed. Sigh. I just feel damn guilty cos I dragged 3 other people in with me, and they aren’t like hardcore clubbers who knows that this is actually a pretty TYPICAL thing to happen for a club event. It’s like complaining that the rain fell downwards and ruined your laundry instead of falling upwards la
Here’s my blog entry on the Shanghai event last year.
And here’s my blog entry showing the screenshots from the MTV video they took of us at the Hennessy Artistry party.
Oh yeah, free entry for us girls, poor YC forked out RM35. So we didn’t get any intoxication that night. But it’s ok la, the Hennessy City cocktails we all also tried already last year. *actions*

Since we arrived too early (they hadn’t even finish setting up), we bummed at the Terrace Bar, where I made a mess with an RM4 hotdog and drank two beers. Shit I’m getting too into the damn things.

Kim and I at the Terrace bar. Dum dee dum. Thanks to YC for helping us take this photo. The other 2 are ‘low profile’ + camera shy. So sad. No group picture. :(

Photobucket
So nice though, met potential kakis to go to Luna Bar with! Next year ya! *jakuns*

First act of the night – Broken Scar. I always thought Broken Scar was one guy only! *blur* See how much I know about Malaysian music? *la la la* There were so many bloggers there that night, throw a stone also can hit one easily. Ya ya, I know la nowadays blogging is so common that anywhere you throw a stone also can hit one, but these were famous bloggers ok! *shy* Anyway, I digressed again! The music was quite cool, though couldn’t really hear what they were singing about. Too bad no one was on the dancefloor! But at least the crowd joined in to sing for one of the songs. *my memory-filled-with-holes is unable to conjure up the song title even though I was singing shouting along as well*

Guess the blogger?

Photobucket
None other than Jen on assignment! Hope you enjoyed yourself more than I did! I’m laughing at this pic because my hand looks like it’s holding an invisible knife wtf. Killer.

Photobucket
Me wasting time with Kim while waiting for Kat DeLuna to come up.

Eh, I actually really like that annoyingly infectious catchy danceable hit of Kat DeLuna’s – Whine Up ok!! I have it as my ringtone and Raymond can attest that I nearly got into a car accident driving back from Mines because I was singing Whine Up (Elephant Man’s lines since my voice so deep rofl!). So I was *quite* excited to see her perform. And she definitely didn’t disappoint – Kat is a really cheeky performer, a SUPER AWESOME SEXY ENERGETIC dancer and she is just so NICE to the crowd ok! She’s just so goddamn likable! *swoons* She started with Whine Up, sang a few of her other songs (don’t remember the titles), a few ballads (where she dedicated it to this guy standing RIGHT in front, and he was so goddamn high after that, tee hee) and ended with the Spanish version of Whine Up. Am I remembering correctly? There’s this new song of hers that is DAMN nice called Run the Show, seriously look out for it. So danceable! *hip roll!*

Photobucket

Photobucket
She’s got the finest booty I fear.

Photobucket
Phwoar. I really like this picture that I took. I can actually take pictures in clubs now! I mean, CLEAR pictures. Not SLR quality, but I’m not complaining.

Photobucket
If you were her dancer…

Photobucket
…you’d wanna touch her too.

Photobucket
Some kinda emotional ballad.

Photobucket
I think those are her earphones trailing on the ground…

Photobucket
Another pic I took that I absolutely love.

Photobucket
She looks so cheeky here! Oh ya, I remember she sang a song called “Feel Me” because when she introduced that song she felt her own boob up. Hahaha!

Photobucket
“This next song is for you, Eugene. Cos I see you in the crowd eyeing me. I know you like me.” Hahaha. She’s damn cute! Btw, she’s also really short! I think she’s shorter than me, and I’m like 5ft 5″ only.

Photobucket
Eugene’s look of rapture during the entire song (I reckon. I wasn’t looking at him for the entire song la wtf.)

Photobucket
Wound up. Or should it be whined up?

After her set was done — in fact, during the last song, DJ Sky Nellor had already taken over the decks. Didn’t get much good pics of her. Didn’t even dance for her entire set because I had already delayed the others by a good 1.5 hours. :O Danced for about 20 minutes, and even then didn’t really enjoy because there was this drunk gwailo who went around trying to get gals to dance with him. Seriously, he hit on EVERYONE. He came to me twice – once, pulling my hand and the second time, he did this really dumbass motion to get me to layan him. *rolls eyes* YC, Grace and Kim laughed so hard when I showed it to them. -_____-”

Photobucket Photobucket

But even he was better than this chinese guy who snuck up on me when I was shaking non-existent ass to Tambourine okay. I know la he want me to rub up against him, cos he was ALONE and was like slowly positioning himself. *rolls eyes again* Why ah people don’t like to directly ask me to dance so that they can FEEL THE REJECTION. Well, we left before he got too near la.

Actually, thinking back, it was quite fun also la. When we were dancing and enjoying Kat DeLuna’s performance. If there was less of a wait between Broken Scar and the Kat performance, it would’ve been perfect. Of course, when we COMPARE back to the Shanghai event it is simply different and yes we’re biased because they treated us like VIP there. So I shan’t compare anymore. Just enjoy and be happy with what I had that night. :)

I astound myself — I went to bed at 3am, but was up by 9am!! That way, I managed to do finish all the random crap I have to do before leaving – ie: laundry, cleaning the toilet, packing, going to the money changer AGAIN. And I still had time leftover to go for the Launch of Les Mill’s 4th Quarter Releases at Jaya 33. The one on Friday that I wanted to go for was Body Combat, on Saturday they launched Body Attack, Body Jam and Body Step. Thought of doing all 3, but there’s this pain in my left calf now, when I run, it is there, just niggling away. -___-”

It was a super fun launch — very enjoyable. I think the members will really enjoy themselves in those classes for the next month or so. =) And there was a SANTA CLAUS in the class – I believe its one of the instructors dressed up. At the end of the class, he gave us CANDY.

Ok, I’m out! Gotta get up by 5.30am tomorrow morning, praying hard to God that I don’t forget anything. I hope I’ll be able to blog a bit here and there when I’m at Simon’s place, but honestly, I hope to be so busy that I won’t have time to do so! :P

Take care, play nice and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance!

SUPER SHANGHAI!! December 5, 2006

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

The Shanghai trip, in short, was GREAT. The city is a wonderful blend of modern China and old architecture. Walking from Lujiazui to Nanjing was a breeze (literally!), as Pudong Shangri-la was located in such a convenient spot. Subways were but 5 minutes away, the city is EXTREMELY clean and the people are beautiful… I would visit it again in a heartbeat!

The Hennessy Artistry Party itself was definitely the HOTTEST event of the year. All the artistes gave 101% in their performances. I didn’t know anything about Yu Quan, DJ Sky Nellor, Juliette & The Licks and David Tao (ok, except for that ‘Rain’ song), but I would PAY to watch them next time! There was hot dancers, free flow of DELICIOUS cocktails and HOT HOT HOT people.

The winners for the contest were from Korea, Shanghai & Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia (of course). Found out that there’s actually lots of winners from around China, cos it’s a really big & publicised event there. Hennessy really did spend a lot accomodating to all the winners and flying them from around China to Pudong. *faints* And you know what, the winners were really, really good looking (not praising myself, I mean they were all good-looking except for underdressed me)…

The flight there was terrible though… the only thing that marred the holiday. But otherwise, everything else was… the funnest random contest that I’ve ever won. MTV and Hennessy were perfect organizers, the other contest winners were friendly. And Kim is the best person to bring on the trip because … she can withstand me. =p

This is a short entry because I have to go back to work tomorrow. Expect more tomorrow. But basically its a GREAT experience meeting everyone. Even the weird people on the trip (now THAT’S a whole lot of funny stories I want to tell you all about)!

*Mwah*Mwah*Mwah* Thanks for all the wishes, peeps. Yes, I do feel lucky. I’m going to buy myself a lottery ticket (as advised by someone we ‘met’). ;)

SIMPLY SHANGHAI!! (Not Much Of It On The 1st Day, Actually) December 4, 2006

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

Okie, here’s a long grandmother story about the Shanghai trip. Can’t get over it, mainly because work is tedious (so many errors when I’m gone. Not because I’m so indispensable, but because I created havoc before I left… gah!). I just love imagining that I’m back in Shanghai again! =) It’s wonderful to think that in the last 3 months, I’ve been to 3 different countries. *reminisces*

Ok, so the flight to Pudong was HORRIBLE, here’s why! Firstly, the flight was at 9:30am, so we left by about 6:30am. When we reached, found out it was delayed 30 minutes. No biggie, really. We just shopped more around KLIA. *happy* Both Kim and I berjakun and were so happy to be sitting on a MAS flight (note: my last one was Air Asia).

Okay, more pictures of me, what else. Sorry, no pictures of the hot contestants yet. Anyway, wtf, this wasn’t a beauty pageant, it was an MTV contest… bluekkk

Everything was going fine, really. We had a little tiff with two uncles behind us (over how we had to share a cabin with them and they totally like kept stuffing their luggage into our cabin with no regard of how LITTLE space there was even though they had their OWN cabin without needing to share with other people). =p Anyway, there was a pretty nice lunch, watched like some nice shows on their SELECT channel, got to read a bit of Wheel of Time… lalala.

Me & Kim camwhoring on the plane.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Er.. watching The Devil Wears Prada on Select. At least this one had an ending (unlike my pirated CD..).

Then at about 3:00pm (we were scheduled to land by 3:30pm), the pilot made an announcement that Pudong International Airport was CLOSED due to “military activity”, and we would be diverted to HONGKONG. Blablabla, he’s so sorry, nothing he can do about it, lalala. You know, the pilot made it sound like a damn serious situation (later we found out the REAL reason, so STAY TUNED), and I was damn depressed. Come all the way, and who knows, what if for the entire holiday we couldn’t get in to Pudong? Arrgghghhhh!!!!

So we took about 2 hours more to fly to Hong Kong… and once we had landed in Hong Kong, they announced that the “militants” in Pudong had reopened the airport, wtf!! BUT… we would have to wait for the other SIX planes ahead of us that had also diverted to leave the runway first before we would be allowed. HOWEVER, the pilot said, “he would try his best to allow us to leave the airport first”. YEAH RIGHT. So that was another 2 hours wait doing nothing.

Nothing except making funny faces to amuse ourselves, of course. ;)

Some aunties ahead of us complained to the stewardesses that at least… provide some dinner for us. The last time we all ate was about 12pm! They fed us salted peanuts and said that they would check with their HK ground staff to get us some food ASAP. HOWEVER (I use this word a lot in this story)… just when we were ‘supposed’ to get the food, the pilot announced that they had just been given clearance for take-off from the HK Air Traffic Controller, so we would be leaving rightaway without waiting for the ground staff to totter to the plane with the goodies. What a riot! My life is really a tragic comedy at times.

Sooooo… we took another 2 hours to fly back to Pudong. Ended up reaching the darn airport at about 9-something pm. O_o And because there were planes landing in Pudong one after another, the immigration lines were un-freaking-believable, so when we FINALLY got through health clearance, immigration, getting our bags and worming our way through all the people… it was already 10:45pm. !!! MAS had given everyone a dinner voucher for Chalon Restaurant in Pudong International Airport, but by the time we reached the restaurant, it was *cheng*cheng*cheng… CLOSED. O_o I just read in The Sun today that MAS is pretty penny-pinching, but this is not stinginess, but plain TRICKERY.

There was supposed to be airport transfer arranged by Hennessy for us, but probably because we were so slow or whatever, IT LEFT. I was so distraught… so sad that there’s no glamour of stepping out of the airport and having your name on a placard. LOL. Worse is, the Singaporean organizer told us to take a cab instead and then she’ll reimburse me. LUCKILY. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THE CAB COST?!? It was RMB188, so I think the Malay Mail reports on KLIA cutthroat taxi drivers seem tame compared to this (not that I think KLIA taxi drivers are completely honest beings).

Our strange taxi driver… doesn’t stop at red lights. He flashes his headlights madly while he jams his foot on the accelerator. He is damn pissed off when he fails to jump a red light (either he stops or he gets crushed by trailer… only THEN will he stop). He turns up the radio to high volumes when Cao Meng (Grasshoppers) is on the radio. He opens the door to spit in the middle of the highway… =____=” Very strange, yet normal in China. FYI, he doesn’t just accelerate + flash at red lights. He accelerates and HONKS at pedestrains.

Anyway, when we reached the hotel, it was past midnight, and we were tired and cranky, so we didn’t go out to the Shanghai bund. Which was what we planned. Sigh! Wasted one day, due to @#$% reasons. At least the hotel was VERY nice and VERY luxurious. That finally put a smile on our faces.

Note : Most of these photos are taken on the last day at Shanghai, so that’s why it looks like daylight outside. Was much too tired to traipse around the hotel taking photos upon arrival!

As for the room itself … the bed was heavenly soft (makes my mattress at home seem like its filled with rocks), the bathroom was so HUGE and inviting (at first was pissed at Kim for taking damn long to bathe, but later could totally see why), and we had a huge flat-screen TV, executive desk, Aigner bath products (AIGNER ok… *jakun*), thick white bathrobes and slippers. DAMN FIVE-STAR HOTEL OK!! Wish I can stay there foreverly forever.

See? The hotel itself was enough to make such a ‘caplang’ flight good, is it magical or what? ^^ And what was the final cherry on the icing on the superdupertriplelooperly mega chocolatey sundae with strawberries and toffee was… A GOODIE BAG FROM HENNESSY!!! Thanks to Hennessy for all the goodies, and also the XO I have in my room from them from the Cleo Bachelor contest. <3 <3 <3 Hennessy has so "brought over" Kim that she told me although she has allergies to alcohol, "it is part of my life and I won't give it up now, even if I itch for days after 1 margarita". Mwahahha! <3 Gotta love her.

Hennessy Artistry leather slingbag (for men), Hennessy Artistry shirt, some chinese entertainment music mag, Hennessy cocktail recipes, Hennessy VSOP gift/display thingy, Hennessy Artistry postcards, Juliette & The Lick’s Four On The Floor CD, David Tao’s Tai Mei Li (Beautiful) CD.

Okie, that’s all for the 1st (sad) day in Shanghai. The 2nd day is even longer… so long that I have to break it into 2 parts! Anyway, work is really hectic for me at the moment, and I might be staying over in the company hostel til 15 Dec, so don’t miss me too much if I don’t blog. ^^ To my friends who wanted badly to see more of Shanghai, sorry la… next entry. Keke!~ BTW, I won a Stormbreaker contest recently. HAHAHA.

Shanghai, Baby Part Tres! December 2, 2006

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

Okay, I’m going to be boarding a plane in about 6 hours time, and I have to be leaving the house in 3 hours time, but I’m up blogging! Actually, I was up packing and unpacking and trying to find the largest bag in the house. Fail. And I still don’t have my ‘smart chic’ outfit for December 2. I decided to give up. Wear like, whatever goes. O_o Anyway, I’m flying MAS, economy only la, my trip isn’t *that* luxurious!

Before I forget, a huge shoutout to You

Is the date correct? ;)

More about the event in Shanghai that I’m going to here (It’s in Chinese, but I’m sure you can figure out pretty much what’s going on). I’m really excited! But also a little gloomy. Sigh, work related stuff la! Got to ‘unburden’ a little to OCM during lunch, but still pretty much sad! I was really feeling guilty about dropping everything and just rushing off — but its not like company XYZ will PAY me to NOT go to Shanghai! I just found out that the return tickets alone cost RM4,800++ for me and my friend. So ya, I’m not rich enough or honourable enough to go, “Pah, it’s ONLY RM5K! Don’t go this time, will have many more chances in the future!” and instead spend this weekend working! =(

I’m really sorry to my colleagues that I cannot be “3 musketeers” and work this weekend too. But you cannot say that I haven’t done that in the past. Anyway, what happened this evening has totally wiped out any guilty feeling that I have! Lets just say that I was made to do some really roundabout work … about THREE times… which ended up taking the whole day and overtime of 3 hours when it could’ve just taken 30 minutes in the first place!

Anyway I’m off to Shanghai, and I think I deserve it regardless of what people may say or think. Ok? Ok!? Don’t try to guilt-trip me when I come back and then all will be well (read: souvenirs for all). Cos I don’t plan to be in China thinking about work! In all honesty its going to be the last thing on my mind.

Now that I have further ‘unburdened’ myself here, this will be the last time for the next 3 days that I will think about PROGRAMMING and WORK. Bluek!~

P.s: I just remembered that I’m still on call… haih!! :p
