Hennessy Artistry Malaysia ft Kat DeLuna, DJ Sky Nellor & Broken Scar December 16, 2007

Was driving to work on a Friday morning when I heard about the Hennessy Artistry party at Zouk that very night. Actually, I saw the poster for this event when I was at Zouk with Fuzz on the 1st, but there wasn’t much details so I just put it out of my head. Don’t know why, I suddenly felt like going when in fact I had planned to go for the Body Combat Launch at Jaya 33 that night. You can check out the Star online article about it here.

Started searching around for kaki. First in my mind was none other than Kim since I went with her to Shanghai for the Hennessy Artistry party there last year (thanks to MTV). Also, after that event, Kim was the one who forwarded me articles of other H.A. events happening in Malaysia. Kim was pretty enthusiastic about it, called Grace (her sis) and her friend (YC) to go as well. Wow. Even I myself was stunned that everything so last minute also could be arranged. Thank God for it being a Friday as well because I could leave work, drive to Taman Paramount to grab my new contact lens (yes! I no longer need to be a four-eyed leech!) and still had time to leisurely get ready back at home. *proud*

Photobucket
Wah, even had time to camwhore before leaving.
Why do I look so naturally cunning? -____-

Anyway, regretted going for the event la!! It is nothing at all like the Shanghai one, and I’m not even comparing things like the artistes who performed or the quality of the artistes (DJ Sky Nellor played at both events, I was most excited to see her cos she ROCKED Shanghai ok! Everyone was dancing for more than 1 hour straight with no signs of stopping!). It was EVERYTHING ok. Not starting on time, making people wait donkey years between each act, people actually PARTYING in Shanghai… *goes on and on* Damn stupid la, they advertised the event to start at 9:30pm, but the first act only came on past 11pm. They didn’t even bother to introduce DJ Sky Nellor properly and gawd, the tracks she played were so different from the ones in Shanghai. I only properly got into the mood during Golddigger or Umbrella (which ever came first). Sigh, after listening to that “Never Scared” Chris Rock skit, I really can’t dance to ANY random shit anymore. If you haven’t watched that skit, go watch, it’s fcuking hilarious, especially the one where he’s dancing and singing, “Smack her with a dick! Smack her with a dick!” Damn WTF.

Ya, I digressed. Sigh. I just feel damn guilty cos I dragged 3 other people in with me, and they aren’t like hardcore clubbers who knows that this is actually a pretty TYPICAL thing to happen for a club event. It’s like complaining that the rain fell downwards and ruined your laundry instead of falling upwards la
Here’s my blog entry on the Shanghai event last year.
And here’s my blog entry showing the screenshots from the MTV video they took of us at the Hennessy Artistry party.
Oh yeah, free entry for us girls, poor YC forked out RM35. So we didn’t get any intoxication that night. But it’s ok la, the Hennessy City cocktails we all also tried already last year. *actions*

Since we arrived too early (they hadn’t even finish setting up), we bummed at the Terrace Bar, where I made a mess with an RM4 hotdog and drank two beers. Shit I’m getting too into the damn things.

Kim and I at the Terrace bar. Dum dee dum. Thanks to YC for helping us take this photo. The other 2 are ‘low profile’ + camera shy. So sad. No group picture. :(

Photobucket
So nice though, met potential kakis to go to Luna Bar with! Next year ya! *jakuns*

First act of the night – Broken Scar. I always thought Broken Scar was one guy only! *blur* See how much I know about Malaysian music? *la la la* There were so many bloggers there that night, throw a stone also can hit one easily. Ya ya, I know la nowadays blogging is so common that anywhere you throw a stone also can hit one, but these were famous bloggers ok! *shy* Anyway, I digressed again! The music was quite cool, though couldn’t really hear what they were singing about. Too bad no one was on the dancefloor! But at least the crowd joined in to sing for one of the songs. *my memory-filled-with-holes is unable to conjure up the song title even though I was singing shouting along as well*

Guess the blogger?

Photobucket
None other than Jen on assignment! Hope you enjoyed yourself more than I did! I’m laughing at this pic because my hand looks like it’s holding an invisible knife wtf. Killer.

Photobucket
Me wasting time with Kim while waiting for Kat DeLuna to come up.

Eh, I actually really like that annoyingly infectious catchy danceable hit of Kat DeLuna’s – Whine Up ok!! I have it as my ringtone and Raymond can attest that I nearly got into a car accident driving back from Mines because I was singing Whine Up (Elephant Man’s lines since my voice so deep rofl!). So I was *quite* excited to see her perform. And she definitely didn’t disappoint – Kat is a really cheeky performer, a SUPER AWESOME SEXY ENERGETIC dancer and she is just so NICE to the crowd ok! She’s just so goddamn likable! *swoons* She started with Whine Up, sang a few of her other songs (don’t remember the titles), a few ballads (where she dedicated it to this guy standing RIGHT in front, and he was so goddamn high after that, tee hee) and ended with the Spanish version of Whine Up. Am I remembering correctly? There’s this new song of hers that is DAMN nice called Run the Show, seriously look out for it. So danceable! *hip roll!*

Photobucket

Photobucket
She’s got the finest booty I fear.

Photobucket
Phwoar. I really like this picture that I took. I can actually take pictures in clubs now! I mean, CLEAR pictures. Not SLR quality, but I’m not complaining.

Photobucket
If you were her dancer…

Photobucket
…you’d wanna touch her too.

Photobucket
Some kinda emotional ballad.

Photobucket
I think those are her earphones trailing on the ground…

Photobucket
Another pic I took that I absolutely love.

Photobucket
She looks so cheeky here! Oh ya, I remember she sang a song called “Feel Me” because when she introduced that song she felt her own boob up. Hahaha!

Photobucket
“This next song is for you, Eugene. Cos I see you in the crowd eyeing me. I know you like me.” Hahaha. She’s damn cute! Btw, she’s also really short! I think she’s shorter than me, and I’m like 5ft 5″ only.

Photobucket
Eugene’s look of rapture during the entire song (I reckon. I wasn’t looking at him for the entire song la wtf.)

Photobucket
Wound up. Or should it be whined up?

After her set was done — in fact, during the last song, DJ Sky Nellor had already taken over the decks. Didn’t get much good pics of her. Didn’t even dance for her entire set because I had already delayed the others by a good 1.5 hours. :O Danced for about 20 minutes, and even then didn’t really enjoy because there was this drunk gwailo who went around trying to get gals to dance with him. Seriously, he hit on EVERYONE. He came to me twice – once, pulling my hand and the second time, he did this really dumbass motion to get me to layan him. *rolls eyes* YC, Grace and Kim laughed so hard when I showed it to them. -_____-”

Photobucket Photobucket

But even he was better than this chinese guy who snuck up on me when I was shaking non-existent ass to Tambourine okay. I know la he want me to rub up against him, cos he was ALONE and was like slowly positioning himself. *rolls eyes again* Why ah people don’t like to directly ask me to dance so that they can FEEL THE REJECTION. Well, we left before he got too near la.

Actually, thinking back, it was quite fun also la. When we were dancing and enjoying Kat DeLuna’s performance. If there was less of a wait between Broken Scar and the Kat performance, it would’ve been perfect. Of course, when we COMPARE back to the Shanghai event it is simply different and yes we’re biased because they treated us like VIP there. So I shan’t compare anymore. Just enjoy and be happy with what I had that night. :)

I astound myself — I went to bed at 3am, but was up by 9am!! That way, I managed to do finish all the random crap I have to do before leaving – ie: laundry, cleaning the toilet, packing, going to the money changer AGAIN. And I still had time leftover to go for the Launch of Les Mill’s 4th Quarter Releases at Jaya 33. The one on Friday that I wanted to go for was Body Combat, on Saturday they launched Body Attack, Body Jam and Body Step. Thought of doing all 3, but there’s this pain in my left calf now, when I run, it is there, just niggling away. -___-”

It was a super fun launch — very enjoyable. I think the members will really enjoy themselves in those classes for the next month or so. =) And there was a SANTA CLAUS in the class – I believe its one of the instructors dressed up. At the end of the class, he gave us CANDY.

Ok, I’m out! Gotta get up by 5.30am tomorrow morning, praying hard to God that I don’t forget anything. I hope I’ll be able to blog a bit here and there when I’m at Simon’s place, but honestly, I hope to be so busy that I won’t have time to do so! :P

Take care, play nice and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance!

Akon Showcase @ Ruums January 17, 2007

::Originally posted on Completely Random::

Crazy. And deprived. Last weekend, was the first time that I drove to Jalan Telawi by myself. Yeah, and last weekend was the first time I drove to BSC since… 2005! W.T.F. I’m not very familiar with the Bangsar area, and last time it was always my friend(s) who drove me there. Wtf, I keep going wtf because it’s so near and it’s so cool and I’ve been soooo missing out. Wtf wtf wtf. Last time my navigator was Ben, who only knew one long complicated way there. Mwahaha, the jakun, frog-under-coconut-shell, deprived me finally wormed my way there via Federal Highway, so I is feeling smart now!!

Anyway, the reason why I decided to go there was to get tickets to Gamarjobat, and now I have pretty cool 2nd row tickets on February 4th, so see you people there! Cost = RM67, pricey, no? The cheapest tickets were RM50+, I think it’s because it’s the weekend show. =( After that, I drove to Jalan Telawi on a whim, just to see if I could find the majorly cool Goss:ps Boutique. Yeah, I found it alright, the only thing I couldn’t find was parking. ~_~”

Anyway, tonight I went for the Akon Showcase @ Ruums. Won tickets via MTVAsia.com, and went with Daniel. Doesn’t Akon look like a really sad and morose person? Come to think of it, he even sounds pretty sad and morose on his songs, e.g: “Mr Lonely” and even “Smack That”. O_o My main reason for going was because I think he sounds sad when he is singing “Smack That”, and I wanna see if he LOOKS sad when he’s singing it, or whether he has a totally lecherous look. Mwahhaha! =P

And the crowd at Ruums… OH MY GOSH… un-freaking-believable! The Tata Young showcase looks like nobody was even interested in her compared to Akon. All the gangster wannabes were all there, and I think the crowd was 50% Malaysian, 50% foreigners (Iran, Sudan, Nigeria, etc etc). Wtf!

The organisation was soooooo bad, they didn’t have anyone controlling the crowd, so people kept cutting the line and going in ahead of the people patiently lining up. Very frustrating man!! And I was looking out for friends in the crowd, and unexpectedly ended up meeting Fazlynn!! <3 <3

Daniel kept complaining about being ‘dog tired’. Sorry la, I know working pple very difficult to party at weekday night! Thanks a lot for not ffk me this time, and sorry that it wasn’t as ‘effortless’ as the Tata Young showcase. Thanks for being such a sport!

Fuzzy in her cute cropped jacket. ^^ She didn’t want to wait that long, and ended up not going for the showcase at all. Said she “didn’t have the patience”. Sigh….~

A pamphlet with morose Mr Akon. In the end this pamphlet became salted veg in the club because I used it to wipe my sweat… hahahha.

Anyway, we *did* manage to get into the club despite the HUGE amount of people AND the monkeys who kept cutting the queue. Thank God! If they didn’t let me in I would rage in front of Ruums! Gathered enough ANGER at that point to murder the security guard person who totally “close one eye” to people cutting queue despite this dude in front of us who kept complaining. I was so relieved to get into the club… until… we stepped onto the dancefloor, and into a sea of people (no exaggeration!). And I was moving whenever other people were moving… swaying with the waves of people, haha! Quite disgusting la, but you know that they won’t try to molest you because at that point the only person that can excite them is Akon.

And you know what tall people like to do? They like to go for concerts. Seriously, every time I go for a concert, sure got an unnaturally tall dude who is in front of me. Today, the guy in front of me was like… 3 heads taller than me. And he damn love Akon, and he will stretch his tree-branch like arms into the air and gyrate… geezus christ.

You want to know a way to “con” people to let you push your way to the front? There was this girl who told everyone “I cannot breathe!!” and made some look-like-asthma-attack moves and insist people let her through, all the while gasping for air. Okay la, if you seriously having an asthma attack, of course we should let you pass through. BUT WTF IS A PERSON HAVING ASTHMA ATTACK NOT HEADING OUT OF THE CLUB BUT TO THE CENTER OF THE DANCEFLOOR!!!!!!!!1111!!!

Enough about the pissing off parts – otherwise, I really did enjoy myself (after the whole pushing & shoving was done with). Daniel kept praising Akon’s voice… but in the end thinks he was lip syncing because “no way can be that good right!”. Wasn’t near enough to certify this, so lets just assume Akon is a great singer la! Anyway, I think he’s quite good at entertaining & interacting with the crowd. He was a bit cheesy at some points (like when he saw people packed like sardines he said, “Hey, don’t you touch the ladies like that! You can’t touch the ladies like that! Only I can… hehe”… wtf), but overall you can see that people were loving it.

Towards the end of the show, he wiped off his sweat and threw the towel into the audience. If that towel had hit me… I think I would’ve threw it away to someone else anyway. -___- No offense to Akon fans, but any celebrity who wants to toss away their used shit like its worth something is ego trippin, and any wanker who actually wants to buy it is sick in the head. Justin Timberlake’s sweaty towel also I don’t want la!

But regardless, he sang a lot of his songs that night… it was definitely more than the Tata Young showcase. He had Soul Survivor, Smack That (where he actually did smack a girl from the audience), Bellydancer, Mr Lonely (and the follow up), and a lot of his other gangsta songs. It was all quite catchy and nice to dance to. Haha, I want to show you all some dance moves I learnt that night (from the people around me), but I’ll show you another day (very sleepy now). I’ll upload his Mr Lonely video to Youtube tomorrow la… damn grainy anyway, so you’re not missing much.

And now for some food pics! These were from Sunday – it was my grandfather’s birthday. We celebrated at Unique Fresh Seafood. Happy birthday kong kong!

The food took dammmmmn long to arrive, mostly thanks to my dad “ah mo jia” who needs to take 30 minutes to blowdry his hair, causing everyone else to be late. So that’s what’s up with all the bored faces at the table.

And here are food pics from today! Because it’s Sifoo’s birthday, we had Thai food at Sabye-Sabye at Mines Wonderland. The service there is soooooo slow, but I think it’s semi-worth the wait because their tom yum gung is the best! Better than the ones that I had in Chiangmai. ^_~

Footie yesterday was brilliant. As CoachBean says, “More stamina already”. *beams* Plus, SmallP recruited Suphine into our small team, so now we have exactly five players. This is not counting Ms Dash, Ms Cin and Ms Van who are pretty good players with hectic schedules, hence do not come often. We just need two more to play a proper match on a proper futsol field! (Right now still using 2 on 2 cage).

As CoachOCM says, “You had your first futsol revelation yesterday.” Yes yes, I’m embarassed to say it, but I finally learnt how to score a proper goal yesterday. *tears of happiness* And I’m just so happy because everyone is getting so good… (althought the guys might disagree, but please cut us some slack here! Please compare us to 6 months ago!)

No pictures from yesterday because Suphine asked to trail me home, and so I rushed to get my car, only to get lost (wrong level) and then realised that I have to drive real slow because Suphine drives at 80kph. Anyway, I was a real bad driver to trail, you know, the type who at the 11th hour realises that she should be on the right-side of the lane instead of the left-side? Shyeah… and when I apologised to her, she said I was a safe driver! I guess she’s a really really polite person… ;)

Got more pictures from the Bar Blonde Outing, check it out below:

OCM says it looks like I’m being possesive of my drink.

I’m Such A Lady But I’m Dancing Like A Ho August 27, 2006

So, on Wednesday, Sunny invited OCM and me to his birthday party at Bar Blonde. Was kinda surprised because the parties being held by him are usually for within his own team mates, and I was kinda shy to go because I am not really close to most of the people whom he said was going that night…

Don’t mind me asking… who else is going? I’m not close to many of the people there lar…

Heard you are a party animal, don’t worry you’ll enjoy yourself!
o_O
o_O|||
I’m not a party animal la, hello!! =(

Anyway, of course I bagi muka and went… some more free drinks. =p It was to celebrate Sunny and Sue’s birthday… and they really threw a nice bash! They booked the entire 1st floor of Bar Blonde, and the party was basically divided into 2 parts. The “inner” area was where the quieter people sat, drink (lightly), ate snacks and played games (they brought Jenga, Chor Tai Di & Twister). On the terrace, basically was heavy drinking (because the makeshift bar was there), dancing (later) and smoking. It was a really nice and luxurious party!

SmallP and Daniel… he looks so red! But he was the most sober amongst us. =)

The view downstairs from the 1st floor

Got Daniel to drive me there… luckily he knew the way. =p He was quite familiar with the Asian Heritage Row area… but didn’t know where Bar Blonde was. Sorry la, we jakun, walked past if a few times, then only saw it had a small placard displaying “blonde” at the entrance. ~_~” Daniel was so good that night, cos he was driving a few of us back, he hardly drank at all. So responsible! I told Daniel I won’t drink much, but I ended up drinking about 5 ++ drinks. I had Bacardi Lime (quite nice), 2 JD & Cokes, some weird green tea & chivas mix… and I don’t remember. After that I was just randomly drinking from various people’s glasses. -___-”

I repeat…. I was not drunk…. I was not drunk… I was a little flighty and it took Sunny all of 15 seconds to convince to dance, which I happened to dance for 3.5 hours straight. HEHEHE. It’s crazy, but I didn’t feel tired at all, and I love dancing with Sue & SmallP and all the other random girls. Yeah, Sue was crazy… she molested me. It’s her dance move, I think she molested everyone that she danced with. Hee. Aside from that, there was ragging TLM to drink…. until he puked. Then it was ragging him to wake up and dance. Lol.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
TLM, Ben and Bean. This was after TLM had puked, and those two were the main characters in ragging him to drink more. T_T

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
They were playing Blackjack, but they were all slightly intoxicated too. Lol @ Eric with his legs splayed and CoachCaleb and his red face. Hahaha!

Ben, Phong, Bean & OCM are trying to wake TLM up… to drink some more. Check out OCM’s face when he’s trying to mock TLM.

Our bartenders… =)

Again, in the morning I was wondering why I danced so much last night. Stars are Blind came up on the radio and I blushed remembering some of the dance moves I made to that song. Hahaha. But despite all that, I RULE! So Simon, this is the 2nd proof that you are a rotten bartender because the only time I got stoned drunk was when you mixed drinks. =)

Some funny memories…
Despite me insisting I was really sober, I did ask a few people my infamous, “Do I look like I’m crosseyed to you?” question. CoachCaleb laughed, and OCM replied, “I can’t tell… your eyes are too small.”

Daniel was driving us back, when halfway through, Phong said, “Daniel, there’s a bus stop up ahead. Can you stop there?”
Daniel replied, “Huh? I’m already sending Sue back, it’s no problem, I can send you back too! You don’t have to take a taxi at this time!”
Phong : “No, really, you can just stop me there… for a while…”
Daniel : “No it’s not a problem, really…”
Phong : “I’m going to puke la, ok????” [[sounded a bit frustrated because he had to be so straightforward]]

In fact, when Daniel dropped me off, Phong puked outside my house. Like, RIGHT outside my house. I hope my parents don’t think it’s mine
