Completely Random Bits Of My Life

It’s Awana Genting LAH! February 29, 2008

HAHAHA, wtf, Pauline just told me the placed we stayed in is Awana Genting and “Awana Kijal is in Terengganu”. The funny part is that I shared out my photos in the office as “Awana Kijal Resort” and then everyone else followed my naming convention. =D Why la you all follow in a fool’s footsteps? ;)

Got all the photos from Michael & Justin (only left out AhSiang’s one), so I can blog about the trip now. :)

On Saturday, I went for tennis & Body Combat at the gym, before moseying over to Pauline’s house. Was a bit doubtful about leaving my car at her place because I’ve gotten saman-ed before for parking in that area (I still don’t know why), but I reckoned that 1 saman more that I won’t be paying won’t make any difference. Watched Mind Your Language while Pauline packed all the food for the trip. Got a call from Justin saying that he would treat us all to some famous curry fish head restaurant in Wangsa Maju, so then we all hurried to get there. Hehehe.

Before we went to the restaurant, Justin insisted that we go into his house and meet his family (dunno why). His mom is sooooooo nice ok! She treated us all to red bean tong sui! We told her that Justin bullies us and is the noisiest creature in the IT Division. She was shocked and said that he is a shy boy who is extremely quiet… wtf. After that we told him that he is Malaysia’s best actor since he managed to fool his mom for 20+ years.

(Off topic : do you act really differently in front of your family and in front of your friends? I don’t think I do… I just act differently in front of people I don’t know, ie. strangers.)

Oh yeah, and I also got to meet AhSiang’s son Benjamin… omg he is soooooooooo cute!! And he only speaks in English, got accent some more, soooooooooooooo cute. *falling in love* At the “famous curry fish head restaurant” in Wangsa Maju:

WanAi & Justin at the shop…
WanAi got a new haircut today, thought it looked really cute! But she seemed rather shy about it, must be because of people like Justin who tease her about it! *anger*

Michael & Pauline.

Like father like son! I told AhSiang to bring Ben along for the trip to _______, and that I’m willing to carry him whenever he’s tired. OMG, willing free babysitter — that’s how cute Benjamin is! XD XD

All the food is courtesy of Justin WPK… thank you very much!
Just remembered — Ben is soooooo weird, he only eats rice with soya sauce!

Michael & AhSiang were the designated drivers. I slept all the way there again. Pauline took photos of me being very happy to have the backseat all to myself:

Yalah, we brought extra pillows because we were afraid that 6 of us bunking into a room for 4 people would result in pillow shortage.

Arrived at Genting, checked IN and checked OUT the room. While the rest of us were busy bringing down our luggage and all the food items, Justin (who had just 1 light backpack) ran all the way to the room and claimed that he would hold the door open for us wtf. In the end the door didn’t even NEED to be held open, so guess what he did while we were being pack mules? He dumped his backpack on the nicest bed in the room, rolled around on it and declared that that was definitely where he would be sleeping for the night. Damn biadap one this guy!!!

The room was sooooooooooooo nice though, check it out! I think it’s better for a family with young children to stay in this room coz they have a very romantic jacuzzi which none of us used because the bathroom windows were a bit “wayang kulit” if anyone used the jacuzzi. No thanks, I don’t want my colleagues to see even my bathing-in-jacuzzi-shadow! @_@ *prude*

Photobucket
The really nice & spacious living room.
There’s a hugeeeee mirror on the wall. Great for the narcissists in us.

Photobucket
The bed-with-a-view that we were all fighting over. Can see that Just has dumped his bag on one side, and the rest of us girls dumped our junk on the other. Spoil picture only.

Photobucket
Fighting over who gets the bed.

Photobucket
Justin followed me all around cos “whatever you take a picture of, I wanna take one too”. Super kiasu or whut!!

The jacuzzi.

After we had settled down, some of us watched TV, and some of us played mahjong! Mahjong is the best!! Thanks to Pauline and WanAi, I learned how to play “sam ka” (3 players) mahjong. I’m used to the slower-paced 4 player one, but “sam ka” is so much fun dei! Most of the fun was gone when we had Justin playing because this guy is sooooooooooo fcuking slow. I really lost my temper at him a few times because he is sooooooo slow and sooooooooo tak malu about EVERYTHING. There was one point where he was reaching for the tiles from the wrong side, so I kept telling him, “Wrong place!” but at the same time he was shouting “Zi Mo!!!!!!!” and then we both ended up screaming “Wrong Place!” “Zi Mo!!” “WRONG PLACE!!!!” “ZI MOOOO!!!” Do you know how long it took WanAi and Pauline to shut us up!

Photobucket
Using my tripod, with Just’s camera. He didn’t bother to move the armchair away!! -___-
Which is a pity cos I look better in the photos from his camera!
L-R (somewhat): AhSiang, Michael, myself, Pauline, WanAi and Justin.

Photobucket
“Sei Ka” (Four player) mahjong… sienzzz.

Photobucket
No wonder he’s playing so slowly… he’s holding one muruku in each hand!

Photobucket
The number of “fei” (jokers) that I hope to get… muwahahha… (yalah, I look damn lian la wtf)

The cable / wire for the steamboat + barbeque contraption that AhSiang brought couldn’t be found, so we all had to cook the steamboat stuff batch by batch on the stove. Hahaha, so it wasn’t really a steamboat per se, but it was still yummy and fun. Nobody got stomachaches from eating the steamboat that night, so it’s all good.

Photobucket
Some of the “raw” materials.

Photobucket
No cable, cannot be used!

Photobucket
“Kau kau chan, mo bong chan” (playing around, not helping at all)… heh heh. Main chefs of the day were Pauline, WanAi and AhSiang. =p Yeah, check out the number of mineral bottles we brought along. DAMN HOT IN GENTING OK.. I finished 1.5 litres between travelling up and during mahjong…!

Photobucket
“Kau kau chan” part 2! :D Encouraged by Justin la.

Photobucket
Fried marinated chicken slices.

Photobucket
Sample of steamboat, improvised version!

Group pic around the dining table! Clockwise from left: Pauline, AhSiang, Michael, Justin, WanAi and myself.

More mahjong throughout the night, random snatches of Kungfu Hustle on some Genting Highlands channel, looking at what the guys were doing on Pauline’s laptop… er… can you guess? :P

Trying to get photographic evidence of what they were up to… to no avail. :(

Had a peaceful night’s sleep until Justin woke us up in the morning to play mahjong wtf. Too damn sleepy to layan him, so I pretended to keep on sleeping. Pauline and WanAi damn hardworking and semangat, woke up to cook breakfast some more. We had a self-made Western-style breakfast. =D And then mahjong. -____- Here are some pictures from around the resort, courtesy of an itchy-butt Justin (he went out to walk cos we banned him from playing mahjong):

Quite beautiful, eh? Kinda regret that I didn’t follow him to explore the surroundings!

Photobucket
What us girls were doing when Justin was gone… =p *paiseh*paiseh*

We played mahjong until it was way after our check-out time, memang addicted to it! Didn’t win much, if at all.. maybe about RM1 at the most? BTW, it’s DAMN irritating to play mahjong with a n00b who only wins because he is somehow lucky enough to keep getting all the “flowers”, and thus being able to game quickly with a crap formation… sigh!!!

Photobucket
This is a result of setting a 2 second timer instead of a 10 second one! Was testing to see how the group picture could be framed.

Saying goodbye!

Ate a giant cookie on the way back to KL (courtesy of Pauline)… and then ate some more at:
-> a “famous” pan meen store in Wangsa Maju (near the KTM station)
-> famous porridge store in PJ State (??)
-> Canadian lobster (stir-fried with cheese sauce), also at PJ State.

Photobucket
The girls with the same surnames — WanAi, Pauline and Leechie~
Had the “best” / “famous” pan meen in Wangsa Maju -

And now it’s fried with cheese sauce. :P

Actually, got quite depressed towards the end of the night. As usual, with colleagues what else is there to talk about but work, and I can tell you that there’s sooooo much things to get emotional over at work. Sigh.. nobody will understand. If you complain, people will say, “Complain so much for what? Just leave if you’re not happy!” People keep saying that like it’s the fcuking easiest thing on earth, y’know? Like if you’re not happy with the way the government runs things, then leave? If you not happy with your marriage, then divorce? If you’re not happy with your family, disown them? Is walking away always the easiest and best solution?

Have to wake up early tomorrow to settle all my $hit before going to Langkawi. Haven’t even packed, but I’m not worried. Heck, it’s just 3 days right, gonna be a beach bum. A very drunk one.
