Completely Random Bits Of My Life

About May 20, 2008

Hello ~ and welcome to my blog! I’ve been blogging for a long time but not really into the whole blogging, meet bloggers thing. Mainly because I’m an anti-social freak!!

It would explain why I’m in the IT industry — because I like working with things that only respond in certain formats that I understand, e.g: Java, Javascript, JSP, Cobol, RPG, AS400 CL, mainframe JCL’s / procedures, mySQL, DB2, VB6.0 & COM+ technology, CICS, VB .NET, C++, Oracle (the last 3 back in college days) and no, I won’t do your programming work for you.

It would explain why I like going  to the gym… I love Body Combat! And Body Step! And Dance Mania! And Funky Line! And Body Attack! Again, no interaction with anyone. Even though you’re in a “group exercise”, it’s like being alone in the crowd. Sometimes, I don’t even look at the instructor but at my own awesome self in the mirror, which makes my instructors really pissed off! ;)

It would explain why I also like to read a lot (you don’t have to talk to books, do ya?), cook weird stuff [so far I've featured my 'maggi mee curry goreng' and 'macaroni pie' recipes], I make lame graphics and I shop. A whole lot. I like to enter magazine contests, stalk people / blogs, ‘infiltrate’ other gyms aside from TF …. But most of the time I do ‘aunty’ things like trying to get freebies at roadshows / shopping at Carrefour. I’m such an exciting person, aren’t I? ~_~”

<— short digression on my shopping habit —>
I don’t really consider myself in a whole lotta trouble as I don’t really shop *that* much, compared to most girls out there. Yeah, the way I talk about how I bought a lot of new stuff has people thinking that I have a huge “disposable income”. Which is not true. I might shop a few times a month, but no really huge expenditures. I like shopping online, but I don’t do it too often. Usually my favourite shopping haunts are Sungei Wang and One Utama, which just goes to show you what a cheapskate shopper I am. I’m glad that I haven’t developed a habit like my best friend Ben (I am just so flabbergasted whenever he tells me about his new purchases). Maybe when I’m really rich, I can talk about being top of the waiting list for the next Kelly bag and flying to France for mini shopping sprees. Til then, it is no big deal. [Goes out to people who think I shop too much].

<— end of my short digression / over-defensive rant —>

I am currently residing in Subang, work in PJ and my church also in PJ! Life is super convenient for me at the moment ~ super blessed! However, I’m constantly thinking of ways to make more . I used to live to eat, but my paranoia about getting fat has me splurging at nice restaurants infrequently. I don’t really control what I eat, and I hate to say I’m going on a “diet”, because it’s not so much a diet as it is a lifestyle change in food choices. I believe that I’m a lucky person, and I believe that that is a self-fulfilling belief. ;)

Ugh, I’m getting sick of typing all this out. Generally, I don’t really like to start sentences with “I…”, but on a page about yourself, it seems that it’s unavoidable. That’s all for today, and maybe I’ll add on more when I can actually think of something different to write here. Enjoy the blog… or not. =)

Was surfing about re-wiring a house and found your interesting blog.Just wanted to tell you how good your blog was, that I read and look at the yummy food pics for an hour! Keep it up…and hey, don’t be so tough on yourself..Carrefour is not a bad place to shop..

    • lecehleech Says:

thank you… have never really re-wired my house before, so I’m sorry you didn’t find what you were looking for. ;) Carrefour is closing shop in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore… I’m really sad now!

  3. Jason Says:

well… there is always tesco, giant, cold storage….or the wet market. support our independent grocers/butchers!!!!

    • lecehleech Says:

independent grocers also cost more than carrefour…. I read about the monopoly of these hypermarkets before, but maybe the independent grocers need to do something to make me want to shop there more often than the hypermarket since they are losing out in terms of variety & pricing. maybe they could be nicer, for a start… that certainly wouldn’t hurt…

  4. Jason Says:

weellllll….there is something about trudging through these independent grocers that I enjoy tremendously. They are not so generic and the interaction factor makes it worthwhile to pay a lil extra? No? I dont know…maybe I am just plain downright weird!

    • lecehleech Says:

whoa! which independent grocers are you visiting in Malaysia? All the ones near my house no interaction at all, and poorly stocked to boot. Today was looking for chinese chives and both the ones near my house did not have it. Wound up finding it in Jaya Grocer. ;P

      • Jason Says:

Just noticed your reply. My independent grocers are the chinaman ones la. Very chatty uncles and yes, I can find all the traditional ingredients I cant find in the supermarkets!
