Was thinking of going to Maison yesterday for a HP event but I’m too lazy. Thought Cockergene would be going, but turns out he’s no longer with HP. Darn. Who’s up for partying on a Thursday night anyway? (So weird). I usually don’t say no to freeflow, but I don’t want to wake up at 12pm on a workday with 20 miscalls on my phone and wondering where I am and what day it is. Anyway, remember all those random stuff that I want(ed) to do? Here’s the status!
1) Personal Money Software
Finally got the time to finish the “outputs” of my Per.M software yesterday! Got sick of my own procrastination and stayed up til 2am on Tuesday to complete it. Ok, I know it doesn’t look professional, but what the heck, now I can see the total balance and it’s correct = good enough for me. Here’s the screenshot:
But the other night my program crashed 3 times and I forgot to save. Unlike cobol which auto-saves for you everytime you compile. Wtf. Had to rewrite my code three times. I think I can rewrite it from memory now. =\
2) Sewing, Mathematically
This will be my 2nd time sewing from a pattern that I actually drew by myself. I’m not sure that the first time counts, because that was for a Living Skills class back in F2. *frowns* Anyway, since I’m from the science stream, I’ll have to do this the computative way. Which is to measure everything down to the last centimeter and drawing with rulers and protracters and curved-graph-drawing-equipment thingamigs! I’m not going to buy my own sewing machine until the first piece turns out ok. Below is the work in progress:
So all I got was this nice sturdy serious looking cloth (only RM10.24!). Cotton, because it’s easier to draw on. =) I hope to finish this “test out” top by the weekend, so stay tuned stay tuned stay tuned.
3) Gamarjobat
Was excellent, you should’ve gone. Underneath all the gags, these two talented dudes are undeniably great at mime! Everything is soooo realistic. There’s no complex sets (usually just one item, like a bag, or a mannequin), but when I try to remember scenes from the comedy, the set seems to be so complete to me. Like in “The Boxer”, it’s like Hiropon and Kench were *really* in a crowded pub… you can almost see and hear the masses of people that Hiropon had to push through to get to Ketch. You can see the grainy wood of the table top, could see the beer in Ketch’s hands… mwahahaha. They’re just really, really good.
So funny wei. It’s soooo worth the RM67. Only about 75 minutes, but still so worth it. Simple props, great music, AWESOME acting. Really different from the typical kind of miming you see on TV. =)
4) Movies Movies Movies
Oh gosh, Wicker Park is an exercise in patience. I forgot who it was that recommended that movie to me, but it’s damnnnnnn boring! And confusing. And frustrating. Oh, and the main reason I wanted to watch it was because I thought Kate Hudson was in it! And it turned out to be Diane Kruger (siapa tu?). Ergh, pretty boy Josh Hartnett is in it also. Every other scene, he looks like he’s going to break out in tears. Typical way of scrunching up the forehead and eyebrows and making the eyes smaller to make it look like you’re going to start sobbing. Ish, so irritating. Hate him la.
After that, watched Talladega Nights : The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, omg, this show is DAMN idiotic. Slightly more intelligent than Anchor Men, but hell, this is a Will Ferrell movie, so who would expect otherwise. Of course, that means my brother and I enjoyed it immensely. >:p
Ok, I swear I’ll watch better movies after this. I’m actually trying to get my hands on some of those 1960s & 1970s classics. I think the local video store near my house calls them “Golden something-or-other”. Aiya, I’ll show you when I post it up here. And I swear, I *have* to watch Gone With The Wind from BEGINNING TO END one day. That and Casablanca. Don’t ask why, MUST watch by this year end! =)
5) Work Work Work
Busy like heck at work… so sad. My colleague said, “The users don’t care about how much work you put in or how difficult it is to do. They just want the results.” Ok la, you might think it’s cold to say that, ESPECIALLY when they (the users) weren’t being clear in the first place. God, my pet peeve is people blaming you for something when they are the one that misunderstood you in the first place. *brushes shoulders off*
